CambridgeCabby
As usual , dined last evening in The Crown at Catfield ; set off at 08:00 for a slow cruise along a very quiet river Ant heading for Ranworth , clear skies and very warm , arrived at 10:00 at Ranworth as the overnighter were leaving and grabbed the taxi rank . Staithe filled up by 11:15 and so far 6 day boats have arrived and departed after a short (£3) stay. It’s currently 26C with a pleasant breeze , bliss , only 45 mins to gin o’clock we have had our compulsory ice creams from the shop as well as purchasing the ice for the afternoon tipple - life doesn’t get any better for us .

Just out of interest, have you paid to stay there?

CambridgeCabby
Left a gloriously sunny Ranworth at 8:00 , destination hopefully Dilham staithe. The river Ant was certainly busier today compared to Saturday morning , and Barton Broad has a race going on so plenty of sails . Made it to Dilham @ 12:00 , and miraculously only one other boat on the staithe , so we are moored up for the day enjoying the sunshine , a visit to the Cross Keys is imminent
MargeandParge
Dear Pipedreams all crew two and four legged also wobbly legged after a visual assessment of The Cross Keys as Ole Marge and myself might try and give it a coat of looking at when we get back to Broadland. Hopefully fairly soon. Kindest Regards Marge and Parge

Apologies , even though I tried a couple I didn’t take note of their names , they were both from small breweries though one light ale at 4% and a darker ale at 4.7%
NorfolkNog
Wonder if Wild Craft could be one? Not been in for a while but sampled this last time. Quality was excellent, good pub

Meantime
It would have been Wild Craft beers. I believe Paul has an arrangement with them where they supply the beer and keep the lines cleaned etc. It is well worth taking the walk to the brewery which is based on a farm in Smallburgh. From The Cross Keys head as if your going to The Crown. Continue on past The Crown until you see a road on the right, strangely on Google maps it is called Hall Road, but the sign at the turning says Church Road leading to Hall Road. Go down there and you'll see a gate on the right and a sign that says something like no access, exit only. If on foot you can go in this way and up the drive until you reach some farm outbuildings and this is where the brewery and gift shop is. If in car then continue on a little further and turn right where the signs direct you. We were lucky enough to head up there just after the last May bank holiday weekend when they'd had a beer festival. We bought some supplies and they were selling off the last of the beer from the tapped barrels at £1 a pint. Wild Craft Brewery 1

CambridgeCabby
Well we are afloat again this weekend , currently enjoying the warm weather sitting by the boat at Womack staithe. Yesterday we travelled down and dined at The Crown Catfield again and I sampled a few trawlerboys ales . Big thumbs up to Richardsons here , a couple of weeks ago a R45 got caught out by high winds and ended up across our bows rubbing their stern against it causing a few abrasions , we didn’t mention it at the time as I wanted to see how Richardson's dealt with it , and it was first class Tuesday this week she was out of the water and the scratches removed and hull cleaned and back in the water for Friday , thank you Richardsons for your excellent dealings with this .
MargeandParge
I have to say they treated us very well a couple of years ago when our boat took a knock Enjoy your weekend. Kindest Regards Marge and Parge 2
TheFriendlyGopher
I can also add that Richardsons sorted out some damage caused by a hirer getting a mooring wrong and hitting my boat to a high standard and with no fuss. It makes the issue of such things much less stressful when it is sorted out in such a professional manner
