Up early again , weather very cloudy but last nights rain had ceased , popped up to Cafe 142 for a full english (£11:00) very good they were too .

After chatting to friends new and old it was soon time to depart for Beccles our mooring for the next two evenings , we fortunately were able to book the pontoon.

Punched the tide leaving Oulton Dyke and turned left for Beccles , then were riding the incoming tide and 1100rpm was carrying us at 6.4mph over land (even though the Ray marine was stating 3.8kn)

Arrived at a very quiet Beccles just before 13:15 , after Brambles obligatory game of ball Im now putting the stove top coffee in and …… relax ☺️

Very , very lazy couple of days , we had fish and chips on Thursday evening , last night I spent the afternoon and evening in my chair enjoying the warm weather , and we had a barbecue steak for our evening meal , the local butcher was offering rump steak for £7.70 a pound !!

We have decided to stay here again this evening as we are enjoying just lazing around ; it is incredibly quiet , only four other boats overnighted last night .

Off to the butchers shortly to get supplies for this evenings barbecue.

Lovely photo's, such a shame that the park authorities took away the half boat that Banksy put against the bridge so that the children in his mural appeared to be standing in it. All a bit meaningless without it.

Also a shame the perspex protective sheet obscures it so much too, can hardly see the writing now. 'We're all in the same boat'.

I think the problem was that it was potentially going to block the flow of water there. And after all, is an unsolicited Banksy artwork any more than graffiti?

Left Beccles @1120 popped into Hippersons for a pump out (£20 single tank) , under the old bridge and up to Geldston , no room at the inn unfortunately so about turn , it is a stunning stretch of river .

We are now back on the pontoon at Beccles enjoying the sunshine .

That was a shame but as you say, Sunday and beautiful weather.
I saw plenty of boats the far side of Wroxham bridge this afternoon, fingers crossed for mid week for me.

I was there an hour before low tide yesterday and it was showing 6ft 6.  Lowest reading on the flood gauge was 0.45, I need 0.38 for 6ft 9.

I keep watching it in vain but in never seems to drop!!

Our departure from Upton was a bit delayed as the bowsprit of Lapwing meant there was insufficient water to pass her , finally left at 09:15 and decided on Ranworth , managed to get next to the taxi rank , missed it by 5 mins !!!

settled in , chairs out brewed some coffee and had fresh baked croissants and cheese for our late breakfast .

I forgot to mention , we popped up The White Horse Upton for our evening meal , Katie had liver and bacon and I had ham egg and chips both were very good and reasonably priced , beer was also well kept , 3 real ale offerings , only negative is I had to return to the boat to get some colmans mustard as all they have is the chefs larder so called English mustard .

Destination yesterday was Womack , arrived at 08:45 and managed to sneak in to the far right mooring by the post , our favoured spot , a day spent playing ball with the unflagging Bramble , a stroll into the village to visit the butchers and stores then we settled into our chairs .

Later in the day we were in the wonderful company of Wussername and his good lady for a couple of hours basking in the sunshine .

Early evening the Ludham ukelele band set up on the staithe .

Dinner was in The King’s Arms , rib eye steak for Katie and tagliatelle for me , we had an early night , all in bed by 21:00.

Today's destination is Salhouse .

I spy Swan Reflection 2 in the photo. Saw that one in Wroxham last weekend as well. Those boats certainly hire well for Richardson’s. You have definitely got some of the best weather so far this year on your trip.

Think that's the shaft drive one. My last ever hire from Swancraft :default_crying1animated:

Yes, I would think Richardsons have have recouped their investment several times over.

What a glorious day we have had !!

Blistering sunshine again , left Womack at 09:00 todays destination Salhouse Broad , held up severely by a boat travelling at under 2kn from the Ferry Horning meaning we got held up further as the regatta was due to start so had to hold station by the Swan for 10mins , eventually got through (after a brief introduction from “Q” in one of the safety boats and gently motored to Salhouse , paid our £12 overnight fee and settled in , very quiet .

We had purchased food for a barbecue tonight but as the fish and chip van was in attendance tonight it would be silly to miss it !!!

Cod and chips with mushy peas all round for dinner , temperature has dropped pleasantly and we are enjoying the peace and quiet.
