If you need something that works a bit harder Ecover do a range which is environment friendly.

Never use a sponge especially on a car they hold grit, use a micro fibre mitt with some car based shampoo.

Or Ludham Bridge could be ideal with top roller lowering from the bridge fascia so as not to obstruct air draft and it has tow paths either side for the side rollers. English Heritage not involved either.
