Hi, I'm Tim and together with my wife have been on the broads a number of times,it all started with a cheap Sun deal a long weekend for £5 back in the early 90's and we were hooked, since then we have been a number of times both on our own, with friends and for the last 2 years with our own kids, although as we now live in Devon it's not quite as easy as it was when we lived in Essex. We are all booked up for next week for a week with Limelight 2 from Herbert Woods. Can't wait, it's been a long time since we did the same week last year.

Hello Tim,

Welcome to the forum from Tan & myself.

Lets hope for better weather for you next week. You have quite a journey up from Devon, what is it 4 to 5 hours plus?

Enjoy your holiday and if you have time take a few pictures so you can let us all know about your visit again to the Broads.

Regards

Alan

Thank you all for a lovely welcome, what a friendly place this is so far.

Maurice I lived and worked in Harlow for Nortel and then Raytheon before being made redundant, I got a job straight away but unfortunately had to move to Bideford in North Devon. I find it a real struggle having to live in one of the top holiday destinations in the UK but someone has to do it.

The Valley of Rocks is about a half hour ride away on my motorbike but is a regular destination for us when we are out and about on our way across to Exmoor. We don't need to go anywhere else for a holiday really but sometimes a change in scenery is good and there is a lot of scenery on the broads.

Ranworth it takes a good 5 to 6 hours to get across to Norfolk but depends a lot on the traffic have done it in 4.

Really looking forward to getting afloat again and just chilling for a week of total relaxation. I will post pics of our holiday when we get back

Tim

Right back from Holiday, was as good as I had hoped it would be, the weather was a bit mixed and the boat was great, all in all a good holiday had by all.

Ranworth saw your boat cruising through Horning yesterday morning was it you aboard or another of the owners, looks like a lovely boat always iiked the birchwood's for river cruising although you must struggle with the low bridges on the broads.

Hi Tim,

No another owner was on board he moored at Horning for the night and John (Hockam Admiral) said Ranworth Breeze had arrived at OBYS a short while ago.

Yes the bridges can be an issue, we can not get under Ludham, Wroxham, and Potter Heigham but with the correct tides we can get through most of the normal bridges.

Regards

Alan
