JennyMorgan
I'm guessing but I suspect 84 feet of mast will be heading for Barton Broad tomorrow. Here it is, when it's more or less upright:
JennyMorgan
The Broads answer to the Shard! So high that it has a red light on the top as a warning to low flying aircraft! Oulton Broad this evening had clouds at about eighty feet.
Guest
Undeniably impressive, but ever so faintly absurd!

ChrisB
I believe that is not unheard of. I think she has found the bottom a couple of times in her career.

JawsOrca
I dare them to tie the mainsheet off and go down and make a coffee... What keel does she have? Or is the boat really made of concreate and painted to look like a timber boat? Although i bet they very rarely put full sail out.. Nuts.. but fascinating lol.. BroadScot
Why is it not painted in all the classic colours of his fleet of boats IF its who I think it is!Iain.
diesel falcon
If it does more than 6 miles an hour..... It's totally unsuitable for the broads!!
Rincewind
One could be forgiven for postulating that the owner of said vessel is trying to compensate for something.

MostlyAfloat
The mast on that would look more at home on the Mi Amigo.... ( let's see who can join the dots on that one...) Ray

ChrisB
I don't think anchoring in the middle of Barton and transmitting music 24 hours from its 84ft mast really counts as being outside territorial waters. Or do I have the wrong Mi Amigo?
ChrisB
If it is the correct Mi Amigo then she was no stranger to a mast as she was built as a three masted trading schooner in the 1920's. I think she was also stretched at some point as well.
Viking23
One could be forgiven for postulating that the owner of said vessel is trying to compensate for something. Yes... he hasn't got an engine, and the wind blows above the trees, so he is harnessing that lol.

Or do I have the wrong Mi Amigo? It could do, if we declare Broadland as an independent state. Home rule, now that's an idea!!

MauriceMynah
Hanging up that much bed linen to go along, when thousands of refugees are cold in Calais smacks of bad taste to me
Labrador
It's a shame that the river cruiser class has been bastardised by the sudo-rich to pretend they are in the offshore racing elite.
MostlyAfloat
I've come to the conclusion that between us we could solve all the problems on the broads in one fell swoop, what brilliant ideas forum... A 24 hour radio station... Them were the days, Ross revenge, mi amigo, Veronica, radio London, the fort based stations.. It's what the broads needs..... Now where are my pioneer SL1210's and spot master jingle machines Ray
