  1. I've just uploaded this as an example. 6.21 MB and 5184 x 3456. It took a few mins but I'm only on about 6MB download and SLOW on uploads!
  2. I've pinned it to the top of Broads Related Chat for you, Stuart.
  3. I was on the right-hand wing of the Lead Vulcan back in '77 for the Queen's Silver Jubilee when I took this pic on the bomb bay camera as we overflew Buck House: Note the higgledy-piggledy Guards' lines.. my Station Commander had this pic motor-cycle couriered to Guards HQ in London immediately!
  4. How very sad for all concerned. I agree basically with Grace's sentiments but perhaps it's better to let this end here, peeps?
  5. I'm non too sure but does the licence stay with the boat for the year regardless of who owns it?
  6. Absolutely, Alan! When we were moored at the RNSYC the Triangle was our first port of call every lunchtime!
  7. £338,000 seems a lot of money. I wonder if they put out tenders for the work?
  8. They're a damn sight braver than me, Bobdog! In fact the mind boggles! :shocked
  9. SPEEDTRIPLE said .Leaving early means we always seem to miss the traffic, and allows us plenty of time for a couple of comfort stops. W usually arrive in Norwich around 11.00, so divert down to Loddon for lunch at Rosie Leas. Unless we stop off for lunch at the Hockham Eagle with a certain young man and his good lady that is?. You're very welcome to do that next time, Neil!
  10. Sorry I asked.............
  11. What about Rockland Broad, guys? It's idyllic for overnight mud-weighting but are there any fish there?
  12. Be very careful, please, Peeps......................
  13. I know that the Yacht Station team look after all the bouys, but do they get the annual tolls for the moorings?
  14. Which gives 3.5hrs or 3hrs30mins!
  15. Why would you wish to fight a flooding tide, Alan? We leave Oulton Broad and take the EBB to Gt Yarmouth to arrive there at LW + 1.30 (Slack Water, GY). So I leave OB about 3hrs30mins before that. That way I can set revs for about 4-5mph and have a ground-speed of 6mph (when allowed). So, if LW GY is, say 15.00, I'd want to get to GY at 16.30; so I'd leave OB at 13.00.
  16. It's a great pity that it's not the next week, Tim.. you might have brought him to the Meet!
  17. What a lovely read! :clap Back in the days we also had foresail reefing and in-mast mainsail reefing.... all those sheets could get quite confusing. And of course there were the genoaker sheets and the storm jib sheets....
  18. A very warm "Welcome Aboard" from us, Andy!
  19. Bloomi' 'Eck, Peter... perhaps move it to Members?
  20. BB's re-fitted Friday Girl's with this as the old one was pretty tatty. (You can see it in the pic below) They have a Heath-Robinson steam-generator which is basically a big old can with a tube welded on the side. They put water in it, fasten the lid and connect a flexible pipe to the outlet and sit it on top of a heating source. Said steaming pipe is then inserted into the black water pipe before they pull it onto the boat extrusion.. several big lads were needed to pull FG's tube (all 80 feet of it) around the boat! :shocked
  21. And only 10 mins from the World Famous Hockham Eagle (FIVE real ales!)
