  1. Hi David, There were bins at both Beccles and Oulton YS, Loddon Staithe, Rockland Staithe Norwich YS. Not sure about Reedham now, Brammerton was a no I believe. I am sure we will all find out in due course.....Just follow the awful stench or smell! Hopefully my last sentence remains in jest! Iain.
  2. Hi Fred. Nothing to apologise for. WE all on the forum have our thoughts on this thread/subject. I agree though about the hire yards, yep i've deposited litter in many of them over many years. Priveteers sorry, cannot comment don't know. However, I think, but glady be proved wrong, that folks do not want to see the Broads turned into a rubbish tip. Removing bins from places that we have all used at sometime or other just does not make sense to me. To many reading this, it will sound like an old 78rpm record that's stuck, and yes it probably is, but that does not mean a solution cannot be found surely? Do the Councils/Authorities really wish the beautiful holiday area they have, to be turned into a huge skip! If we get a very hot summer, I fear the worst for all concerned. Sorry folks for my rant, but I do worry, I really do. Iain
  3. That remark young Alan I have passed on to many many first timers. NO rushing, come into moor nice n gently, its a holiday not a race track. Do all manouvers within reason slowly also. No rush no crush, I was told many moons ago. Iain
  4. Hi Mark, Nice to see you posting again, thought you'd taken the huff! Iain
  5. Wow a Telepathic shoe wearer!!! Watever next! Agree though, Geoff's garden is stunning! Err are you sure its on Star Gem, Grace Iain
  6. Ok, here is my daft idea to get Hurricane afloat again. If there is a fire tug handy and you skoosh the mud into oblivion with the power hose under her keel, would she not slip back into the river/ Aye ok i'll get my coat! Iain.
  7. Hi Fred, Welcome to the NBN Forum Iain
  8. I live in a tourist area, and our local council have thank goodness made litter a top priority to have it removed down at the seafront and in town at regular intervals, as in daily! I was down along the seafront on Wednesday on my scooter, it was busy too, the sun brings the punters out, and of course the litter. There was a council pick up caged van and two lads out with the plastic bags and tongs picking any loose bits up and bagging them. They had been along emptying the litter bins also. This was at 3.30pm Whoever is responsible for litter removal on the Broadland network, I hope they get it sorted out PDQ. Its a HUGE health hazard just waiting to happen IMHO. Iain.
  9. Hmmm I wonder if Bovington TANK Museum would let us hire one of their finest to keep the A47 clear! Iain
  10. Well I hope its removed before I get there in May lol I require a pontoon mooring and that side is the shortest walk for me. A bit greedy of me I know, but I don't fancy seeing that as my view on the starboard side! Iain.
  11. Hi Mark, With Brooms now back into the hire fleet business, perhaps there is the odd one or two mooring spaces for other hire craft to use? Iain.
  12. Oh Errrr! A bit severe don't you think? Iain.
  13. Hi Steve, Great write up, and so much information too boot! It will of course be a different kettle of fish come August, as in busy! The boat you hired looks the biz indeed and two cabins a good idea also. We will I am sure look forward to your summer holiday cruise reports! Thanks again. Iain.
  14. Excellent Geoff I admire keen gardeners, coz I aint one of them! I leave ALL the gardening to SWMBO. Well it would interfere with my TV sport viewing! Nah only kidding, I do like a wee go at the lawn mower, and I did put power out to the garden. Must say the tulips are looking braw just now in the sunshine. Iain. N.B to Alan (JO) we require a lawn mower emot now!
  15. Looking just now on the webcam I see that old wooden houseboat is still at the pontoon mooring. I wonder if it will be removed in time for the early May Holiday? Its IMHO opinion a blot on the landscape there, I do appreciate it will be someones pride and joy. It just aint mine to look at ! Iain
  16. NO polishing your SHOES today then Grace? Iain.
  17. With regards to Hotel Wroxham, they closed their account. Were fed up with it being damaged all the time, and nasty emails from disgruntled viewers apparently. From what I have read on the Norfolk Live site they state that both (Broads Tours and Brinks) are off line for repairs. That can change quickly I suppose. Iain.
  18. Looking at the Hoseasons site Hurricane which goes under Alpha Spitfire Class the site shows bookings available from May 5th. That could of course be Spitfire and Mustang so three in that class. Lets hope the tides in a week or so get it moved off the bank safely. Iain.
  19. MM, You have more than likely tried this treatment for the walking whiffers, BALNEUM soya oil may help its a Medical Bath Oil and the smell is quite pleasent. I use it to reduce the itch! Think the smallest bottle is 200ml. Iain
  20. When travelling up from GT Yarmouth, I try and stay in the middle of the river as much as possible. The water can get very shallow near those posts at certain states of the tides. So pleased Clives team got it moving again. Well done to all concerned. Iain.
  21. Off topic slightly, but oh how I wish there was a webcam at LBBY showing the antics that goes on at the bridge! Iain
  22. Just checked the Barnes Brinkcraft twitter account. They hope to have the webcam up and running again after the Easter Holidays. Iain.
  23. I think Tartan Socks are awfy smart! Iain
  24. Looks like you have been busy. With regard to an Outboard maybe try Jon at Wayford Marine Services. I see him dabbling with them on here. Think this is the number to ring. 01692 582555....Look forward to the next update. Iain
