Hi Bob, Dave (Deebee) has explained it as I would have. Its nice to be liked, but the software likes 50 posts, then you are put forward for full members. Seven days later - all being above board - you can then like away to your hearts content Iain

I too have always enjoyed my trips to Beccles, but, having always hired boats that will pass the old road bridge, the streach of river that follows is not to be missed if you do venture beyond that said bridge. The pontoon moorings futher down is actually the shortest way into the town, and if the pool is still open in season you can go and do your 40 lengths before lunch! However, IF you can go beyond the bridge, you must carry on to the place I wont mention, because its suppose to be a secret for some, its called.......Th........ inn and a must go to see if on the south broads. I have always enjoyed my trips south, its nice to get away from the M25 that is the St Bennets Straight! There are some very nice areas as you cruise the south, Brammerton is a perfect example, the only draw back is the overstay by the big private boats on the 24 hour mooring areas. How do they get away with it? We all have our favourite spots on the Broads, me, I love them all. I just hope I will get to see them again soon. Iain

On an eleven day summer holiday and being able to use the tides to our advantage, both sides North and South we have had a rebate of unused fuel. On the other hand, in May last year, eleven days again, but having to use the heating every day and evening, we had to add £11.00p. The weather and tides can and do make a difference to the costs IMHO. Iain
  9. Will post you some butter shortbread Stuart for the next meeting!
  10. Before the M6 was built it took me over six n a half hours to go from Ayr to Old Roan, Liverpool. As for the drive to Prestatyn it was eight hours plus! The A6 was a nightmare, one lorry and that was you stuck in first or second gear for mile after mile ! Still on the bright side you did get four gallons of petrol for a £1.00!!! Iain
  11. Tie a piece of string round your finger! Failing that, strap the charger round your waist! Job done !
  12. That does sound a bit drastic ! A call to that locksmith should glean an answer hopefully. WD40 does clean many things, may be worth a try. Iain

  17. Tim, thanks for that, teehee. Kirkcubrightshire is a delightful county to drive down too, from Troon. Being down on the Solway Firth, the tides there I believe to be trecherous, hence not a place for Royal Tudor to venture too! Must try and visit this summer, IF we get one that is ! Iain
  18. Think Stuart was in Iceland? He said it was 26 degrees
  19. Oh dear ...........
  20. You missed some amazing Poppy jokes....honest you did ! They were so amazing, I have forgotten what they were! Iain
  21. Now had my BT Hub5 for 15 months, and no issues worth talking about. A lot will depend how up to date the underground wiring is I suspect. I am though less than a mile from our local exchange, so it may also be a reason I am mostly trouble free. We are plagued by reams of junk mail from Virgin Media, not a company I wish to deal with, As for Talk Talk I hope you are clever at languages! Iain
