  1. It’s all in the preparation. The longer you take the better the finish.
  2. Not seen the results but it was close between RC Storm and N Eastwood in his Star as they came back past.
  3. A few photos from todays Tri Icicle race.
  4. I see the house that featured on Grand Design sold the day after it aired, a cool 10 million and the kitchen and Bathrooms are extra.
  5. Yes they are still here. Lots of spaces on all 3 areas today, must have been changeover today. We love Upton and the White Horse it’s probably our favourite mooring.
  6. “Hookedup to shore power, there was only 2p left on the meter (miserable gits )” Well, you got your moneys worth, every meter was empty when we arrived earlier.
  7. 35ft boat weighing 6 ton on shaft with 70hp turbo Nanni. We did 68.4 hrs cruising in 3 weeks over both north and south and used 102 Ltrs which equates to 1.5 LPH. I have seen many boats over the summer running engines for over 2 hrs while moored and lots of excess speed which would up that figure by quite a bit.
  8. Not really, if it costs a £100 to fill the tank they just charge a £100 on the price if you use more you have to pay to fill it up again if you use less than a tank they win as you don’t get a refund.
  9. Thank you everyone for the kind words. We got Maddie just after we moved in together 14 years ago. She was always a happy dog as long as she could be near you, she took to boating as a pup when we had our sailing boat going down below when sailing and sitting on my lap when motoring. When we got the mobo she would take pride of place on her cushion on the cockpit seat taking it all in and posing for the trip boats. She even did the Belgium and Dutch canals and I remember one particular day when moored in Antwerp, I took Maddie and Mollie for a walk and ended up getting lost and found myself in the gay district of the city. With 2 small white fur balls I must have looked attractive as someone asked me if I wanted a drink… When we get Maddie ashes back some will be scattered on her beloved broads and we will raise her a toast tea of course as she was very much a teapot. Sleep well Maddison our thoughts will never leave you.
  10. Today is a sad day as we lost our beloved Maddison. The vet thinks she had an internal bleed and we promised her she would never suffer. She has left a big hole in our hearts.
  11. I have no box just a strap holding them down.
  12. Yes last weekend through to tomorrow lunch is the LYC regatta, Hustlers from Hunters and half deckers from Martham, you might wish to avoid the Lion though.
  13. We have on a number of occasions this year had hire boats try to moor up in vacant berths within the marina. I suppose if you have left it late and no public moorings are available we’re do you go if it’s getting dark.
  14. Or he had one two many at lunch time and is sleeping it off
  15. I paddled boarded up there in August, no problems with depth or airdraft I needed 6-2”.
  16. https://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/lifestyle/property/paul-wright-boatyard-langley-norfolk-for-sale-9288018?fbclid=IwAR1tXKNo8VYDupRIvbL8scnc0TdVklY9_IXS8xKUb1wHBoclQg_FaF75ysg Any woodie owners want to chip in for somewhere to maintain our beloved craft as choices are getting fewer.
  17. When I worked for a large hire yard we had a yacht sink at Great Yarmouth, I got the job of cleaning it out lots of black stinking mud. It was back in hire in just over two weeks so it can be done.
  18. I fitted one to my last boat, never was 100% happy with it as it always seemed to have a mind of its own regardless of what the thermostat was set to. They decided to give me a free upgrade to a digital controller as the basic one was not available and I think this was where the problem lay.
  19. I would take it out followed by a quick trip to Boulter’s, there are a few different types around.
