  4. I thought we had enough fenders,however we were moored at the New Inn this year for the Horning boat show,until some idiot moored along side of us and scraped the front of the boat.Just to make my day another idiot tried to moor also.I think the look i gave him made he reconsider doing so. Ian

Hi everyone,this is a long shot but can any one help.Many moons ago during a holiday on the broads,my mum got a set of plastic cocktail sticks.Which were all the pub signs along the broads.Over the years they sadly got lost.If any one has a complete set I would gladly pay a good price for them. Hi all back home after a very good weekend.We were lucky with the weather it rained last night after we moored.Friday we went to Reedham and went for dinner at the Ship.Some sort of party,the place was packed. Saturday Oulton broad for lunch then on to Loddon for a bit of a face lift.On passing we saw Ranworthbreeze.In the morning we saw our old boat little kingfisher. Ian

  8. Hi agree with most people.I have a VHF,you don't really need them on the broads,however they can be another useful tool.Do however keep your mobile always charged. Ian
  9. I agree with those who said try to fit a holding tank.Alan must have forgotten we had a holding tank on our shetland,we had her from new ,and part of the build was to put a holding tank and loo on board. Ian
  10. Hi everyone we will be on the boat this weekend,hopefully making for Reedham.If you spot us give us, and the boat a wave.May be try also for Oulton. Then we will go and see Graham at maffets,like many Ladies and for that matter Gentleman of a certain age require some help with cosmetics.She has some heavy duty plastic or rubber strips on the front of the boat,I think they were put on the boat when she was in France.Alan noticed that they were leaking water,he and David tightened the bolts .Now Graham will replace the strips with bolts and capped,hopefully she will look better . Ian
  11. Good luck hope you have many good trips hols etc. It is an expensive hobby, but it is worth it after all the boat always there if you want a trip.You don't have to book just get on the boat and go. Best wishes Ian
  12. I am very sorry also to hear of the news and hope that your boat can be repaired.I am sure someone will be able to explain how the accident happened. A few years back we spotted a hire boat that seemed to visiting ever pub along the Yare. They pulled out of the moorings at the ferry Reedham,just in front of the ferry,which had to stop quickly. It goes to show that some people don't think. Ian
  13. Very true but its good that so much good beer is around. I remember when larger first came out and most people turned to amber beers instead of bitter.Now so much good beer is being brewed (many in Norfolk).Long my it continue. Ian

You may or may not be any where near the Woolwich Ferry this weekend, but if you are my local branch Bexleyhealth will be collecting on the ferry from Friday to Sunday.We have been doing so every March and October for many years.Thanks to all on the ferry,we always have a good response from the public.So if you are near the ferry please put a few bob in the tin.I will be there on Saturday morning. Ian

  19. Perhaps someone can help me with a boat of the seventies.When I was small we had two holidays during the sixties with Martham boats.During the seventies we had a boat from Loddon,I think the boat was named capril.Anyone know any info Many thanks Ian
  20. One shop many of you have visited if not give it a go, it is truly local at Stalham number 44 high street.It is well worth a visit and some of the produce is cheap,with the advantage of being fresh and local. Ian

Yes Alan is right we called in there after returning from Horning over the Bank holiday.The staff were very young and inexperienced.It took a long time to get a drink,therefore we decided not to get food.However looking at the food that was being served it looked very good.We did eat there last year and it was very good.So hope to try the food again Ian
