  2. something like this - https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/401332078904?chn=ps&adgroupid=46622246639&rlsatarget=pla-380277470611&abcId=1128946&adtype=pla&merchantid=101721959&poi=&googleloc=1006602&device=c&campaignid=857250873&crdt=0 it only needs to detect propane and butane.
  3. does that mean if they tether helicopters to the deck and run up the engines it will sink slower.

we rewired it not long after that - we had to get the electricians pushbikes to get from one side to the other as you had to go via the end of the building.
  5. she has asked me to remind everyone in an emergency 999 for the rest 111 (she is on the 111 call centre) while they can get an ambulance sent to an emergency 999 will get it started a little quicker, also they cannot locate you from 111 like 999 can. and rely on you knowing where you are. Cheers
  6. I now have my list of times to get daughter to work and pick up from work over the holiday - drop off to work 10pm, pick up 7am next morning - for the next 4 days, 2 days off then another 3 days evening and morning. the things us dads do for our kids.

one way to make sure it gets in all the nooks and crannies - fill the boat up - then pump any spare out.
  8. Robin, if you know what part of the blind you need, I have parts for all sorts of wooden blinds where I have stripped them down to make baby BA, I may have the part you need.
  9. I read those valves as being in the off position (handles at right angles to the line of the pipe). As I said above, once you get a grip on how the fuel system is set up (I assume those handles under the seat are also connected to the valves in some way) do a sketch and I will draw it up nicely in CAD for you - so you have a permanent record of how it is now. this can then be stuck up in the engine room in case of an emergency to make it plain for anyone who might need in future.
  10. just some pictures as the colour goes on, white today.
  11. Robin, looking at page 25 of the user manual,at the fuel system diagram there seems to be only one valve for the balance pipe into the tank, teed into the balance pipe - the other feeds to the manifold, your generator looks to feed and return to the same tank as one engine, of course thats just what the manual says. if you find its different, send me a sketch of how it is and I will do you a new drawing, its just odd that the feed out and return in your video dont appear to have valves - while all the drawings show valves.
  12. looking at your fuel manifold, can you not feed the generator from an alternative source, if the feed from the centre tank is shut off, it may already be feeding from one of the other tanks, I imagine the manifold has 3 inputs and several outputs, and by juggling the valves you feed from different sources, and out to different destinations.
  13. worst case encapsulate in heat shrink then put an earthed mesh screen over the heat shrink.
  14. if you can get to an end of the cable you could encapsulate it in heat shrink tubing for a distance either side of that point.

I believe Broad Ambition has used a fire resistant aluminium based paint for all of the interior of the hull and bilges
  16. I like the french road signs they use at roadworks where traffic lanes merge, clearly showing two lines of traffic with one car from each taking a turn
  17. from what you are saying you an set up the fuel to feed from wherever you want and return to wherever you want, so if you set up each engine to feed from one tank and return to the other, if one engine was using more fuel, that should even out the contents as the engine using less fuel would feed more back to the tank of the engine using more fuel. thus the only real issue is filling up the tanks, where you would want to fill from one filler and have both tanks fill evenly, I would imagine that if you were filling 500 litres to each you would not want to fill one then fill the other, so you would introduce quite a list to the first side filled, then correct with the other, as you said - this would be a lot of Faff. I suppose the other option would be to add a line with a pump to even out the two tanks - a fuel trim pump (unless you have a line already that the pump could be fitted into.
  18. hmm this seems to highlight the problem you are encountering - http://www.brighthubengineering.com/marine-engines-machinery/75335-cleaning-marine-fuel-tanks/ just one thought, would a steam cleaner do the job, or a commercial pressure washer with a detergent in the mix? I would think you might need some sort of borescope to see what you were doing in the tank.
  19. Robin, once you have emptied the fuel out of the tanks, is there a detergent type product that will break up that sludge, that could be sprayed or poured into the tanks to clean them out.. I can see that once you have them empty, the next task is to empty the centre tank and then remove the pipework and balance valves to clean them out.
  20. Not a lot to update, as I am carefully applying the colour to the badge, as there are 3 colours and probably a couple of coats for each this is taking some time.
  21. more than likely - but try going the other way around the roundabouts and they will get very upset.
  22. Oh, I am disappointed now, there was me hoping for explicit instructions on cooking Christmas dinner, No just kidding really, have a good Christmas, I look forward to next years cookery lessons.
