  1. A Scotsman walks into a bar, usually with an Englishman a Welshman and an Irishman.............. but they are all at the Euros !!!
  2. This is the fourth day of the Euros, or if youre Scottish, it's Monday. Sorry Iain.
  3. Anyone have an opinion on The Yare at Brundall ? I have mine, I may or may not share it on here because it could of course just be me !
  4. A rare sight indeed, seen plenty of heterosexual Herons, a few ***** Quails, even the odd ***** Lapwing, but a bi tern ?
  5. Never met you or your wife Clive, but you've got something special, congratulations.
  6. So did Billy Ocean ?!
  7. Hi Griff Not quite as camp, both seamen, Gunner & RP . Ex Ganges inmates.
  8. Hi Griff, Would like to be involved, Crewed by a couple of ex matelots, with a capable if old boat , happy to give a couple of forumites a ride.
  9. Do all my stuff on an iPad , don't think it allows me to open the planning doc. is this the norm ? Will I have to log on to the planning doc from my computer ? Thanks for any help. Techno Fosil.
  10. No single person seen as the leader etc......... Still needs someone to step up to the plate though Robin if this is to happen ? To collate, names, dates, tides, bridge lifts, locking in etc Someone with experience of this trip, who's initials are LR ?
  11. I was involved in the ill fated C in C of a couple of years ago, a lot of hard work and organisation went into this by Griff. For whatever reason it didn't happen, but in my own opinion, ONE of the reasons it didn't happen was because it was too big (20 + boats) and that's an awful lot of locking in and out for lock keepers. Still itching for a salty bottom, happy to join anyone thinking of doing this this season, but honestly think half a dozen boats is a sensible size flotilla.
  12. Hi B B, Yes went myself, I don't know if I'm expecting too much from these Boat Jumbles, but I've been to Newark 4/5 times and in my opinion, it gets steadily worse, fewer and fewer stalls, just rubbish, tat and ropes. Oh and several yappy small dogs, but like I said, maybe I'm expecting too much.
  13. Never heard of him, amazing colours, stunning.
  14. I have to agree, but being half way to Brundall for me gives me an opportunity to check on the boat. Just thought if a few members were going might be good to meet for a coffee and put faces to daft names !
  15. Any members intending to visit the Newark boat jumble next week ?
  16. Fair post LR, to be fair they do come across as a shambles and wouldn't like to make the trip with them, but still have to admire the old boys bottle, when men of a similar age settle for a spot of fishing or dominoes.
  17. JM. I didn't doubt for one second that you would have something to say , even if it was just to remind us that you are a REAL sailor, oh and to state the bleeding obvious .........
  18. So do I Baitrunner, my problem is listening to Norfolk Broads Sailors who feel qualified to offer derogatory comments directed at a crew sailing from Norway to the U S A.
  19. Mmmm, topic title a little harsh, a Vietnam vet pilot who has the b***s at 71 to make a trip like that gets a lot of my respect. Ok they are a pain in the butt for the rescue services, I'm sure they are not the first and won't be the last, but I just can't help feeling a tad of admiration and respect for these old guys, I hope they have fair weather and winds soon to continue their journey so they can be out of ear shot of how much they are costing us.
  20. In the boat jumble list for 2016, there is no sign of Newark usually in Feb. Anyone know if this has been cancelled, moved,or otherwise ? Thanks.
  21. You'll be disappointed , that was the last episode. They have recorded more I think in Sweden and other places to be shown at a later date.
  22. Neil Warnock was sacked at Notts County, sacked at Huddersfield, sacked at Plymouth, sacked at Bury, sacked at Oldham, sacked at Sheffield Utd, sacked at Crystal Palace (twice), sacked at QPR, sacked at Leeds. You are aware that each time he gets the sack, he also gets a considerable pay off. I don't think Neil is too bothered about the odd jibe.
  23. Because the yacht station and its facilities are closed, does this mean there is no mooring at Norwich until the yacht station re opens ? I would think that's not the case ? Just means no Ranger to relieve you of a mooring fee....... Happy days .
