  1. Ah the Ribble. Off the wall thought chain I've had for years - Rolls Royce named jet engines after rivers. And I'd love to hear Johnathan Ross try to say Rolls Royce Ribble
  2. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112017496363?hash=item1a14c3592b:g:FvoAAOSw0HVWETG8 Maybe ? If you look under Sash Window Catches on e-bay there will be many more !
  3. Grendel - assume you've seen this page. You set me looking https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/rail-guns-on-the-elham-valley-railway-forgotten-sentinels-of-the-invasion-scare.617775/
  4. If I see a boat coming in, I'll ask if they need a hand. Not normally on public moorings to do so though
  5. Yep - got me yesterday evening :-( Coltishall / Smallburgh for me maybe
  6. Has a 'flyaway' with a cheap drone that ended up in a neighbours tree. 2 months later and it still hadn't come down, so we spent half an hour with air rifes removing it a bit at a time....
  7. You passed me up the Ant on Saturday morning
  8. Hmmm - has anyone fitted reversing sensors to a boat I wonder ..........
  9. EDP saying Sutton Bridge closed overnight tomorrow - 19:00 Thu to 06:00 Fri
  10. Very true, you can't give up on your 'real' team. I've now lived longer in Norfolk than anywhere, and have a huge soft spot for Norwich City - right up to the point they play West Ham
  11. What I did notice since lockdown lifted and I can / need to travel more, is the rash of the 50mph limits has spread further across the county
  12. I was that curious as it's the first time I'd hit it, I went down next day in the canoe with a metal rod and poked around. Yep - just the bottom and an unusually low tide
  13. I've clouted the bottom pretty hard at Irstead - I draw a metre
  14. A cunning plan to make sure West Ham do make Europe :-) Seriously - it's a very, very, bad idea and wil have huge implications on National and International football
  15. Or how heavy the crew are - want to reconsider the excercise regime, Grendel ?
  16. Most will have 'gone through' but I did a quick check on the way home and there 3 in Neatishead and 3 in Barton. Look a mix of hire and owned
  17. There were 4 or 5 down Paddy's Lane / Barton Turf a week ago, so assume they may have relocated ( do Pelicans migrate south for winter ? ) Likewise re as long as they are mobile not a problem.
  18. Assuming this is it’s remains moored in Barton Turf
  19. Just a case of unbolting it and turning it 180 degrees - after having dropped the mast of course
  20. Popped down the boat yesterday evening, and as it was getting dark thought I'd test the nav lights.... only to realise I have the masthead tricolour on backwards. Green to port, red to stbd, white to front. The bow light is the right way round though - hence the title

    'slumboats'

I see the Pelican has migrated again - been up Paddy's Lane for the past couple of days
  22. I was going to say a canoe, so great minds
  23. When I was in the RAF a collegue and I did contemplate building a flightdeck on the boat for our RC models
  24. Yep - and if you do have a valid reason not to have had the jab, that'd be on there too. Not sure about the fine idea, but in principle I've agreed with an ID card for years ( having carried one for all my adult life so far )
