  1. They should have bulit a roundabout by Tescos - getting out of there is never easy if heading to Wroxham because of traffic turning in ( however this is irrelevant to the accident ) Until we see the full details, let's not jump to hasty conclusions. That is a major road, taking a lot of traffic. Many of us use it for commuting. It has a good footpath to Wayford Bridge, so pedestrians should be safe. I'd agree with barriers on the island though.
  2. Just look at any of the village verges, not just remote paths. I've nearly had a couple of accidents because you are pulling out blind due to vegetation at junctions.

  6. I can't, and won't, get drawn too far into the wheres and whys, partly because others are managing this via the proper channels, and partly becuse I am not fully up to speed on all the angles, but there are a huge raft of environmental issues around Hickling, from protected animals to protected weed.

  10. I have wondered if there is a way of coming up with some kind of water powered dynamo to top the batteries as you move. Won't provide huge amounts I know, but add panels and it'd help lessen the charge surely
  11. Anyone else browse this site: https://riverlevels.uk/river-bure-hoveton-hoveton-broad-tidal#.YrrTF-zMJaQ
  12. Depth can be more of a problem than height if the mast is easily dropable. I carry 30' of mast, but it can be down in less than 5 minutes if not carrying sail. The depth is about the same as you propose with the modification, and there are places I've touched bottom on low tides so certainly worth doing Heating - I have an 'all in one' diesel heater that when I need it sits in the cockpit and is ducted through a hole in the washboard. On remotes so I can operate it from inside. Works great and was only around £100

Just has a daft thought, and hope it's just that : SAFE exit slip on roads is marked by by green cats eyes; " stay between the posts the novice is told" - then they see a line of green bouys -is that the safe exit ?

  19. I looked at this and my initial thought was 'only 8000 hours' my car's done 260000 miles. Then I did some sums, and depending on what I called my average speed was looking at 5 to 8 thousand hours. Kind of puts it into perspective
