  1. Do you want to moor at Neatishead itself or Gaye’s Staithe? Different moorings.
  2. I’ve always been amazed at the mark up for fuel on motorways, 20p per litre in some instances. M20 and M25 anyway. Would they dare increase it further like some petrol stations appear to be doing?
  3. I hadn’t heard about the sparkling water shortage, but now you mention it better rush out and get some………. Hang on - I don’t drink sparkling water! 🙄‍
  4. It’s on the tv/radio news, it’s in all the newspapers innit? That means there’s gotta be a panic! I’m sure a couple of weeks ago there was mention of the army being used to transport goods etc. Seems to have all gone quiet again.

    Dog Ban?

Just to clarify - from Womack, this is the track that leads from Hunter’s Yard at the end of Horsefen Road.

    Dog Ban?

Looks like it’s part of the Womack to Potter walk. Dyke End appears to be where the track from Womack turns towards the pumping station, Horsefen Bank is part of a track from Potter but I can’t see how the two link. I suppose there may be a permissive path of sorts that is the subject of concern. Great Yarmouth and Cromer??
  7. Southern rivers are fairly quiet, plenty of moorings available. For example only five boats at Somerleyton on Monday.
  8. Induction hobs are incredibly quick at heating pans, even faster than gas. I think they’re more controllable too. They only work with pans with magnetic bases so it’s easy to identify if one will work or not. And yes, it’s the residual heat from a hot pan that is left on the hob. Usually a light will indicate residual heat even if the hob is turned off. I love ‘em!
  9. Brooms appears to be the most expensive place on the Broads for almost anything. (I did notice that from October no cash will be accepted, only cards. Going to make a £3 water fill up quite expensive for them methinks what with the time needed to process a card!)
  10. Young people seem to moan enough as it is about the ‘wealthy baby boomers’ what with annual fuel allowances and brilliant pensions that they reckon they pay for! Start giving us half price moorings for our gin palaces and top end hire boats and they’ll be really unhappy. Nice thought though Andrew, keep working on a solution to the problem.
  11. We use something similar to this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zacro-Rechargeable-Waterproof-Retractable-Removable/dp/B083GSG5VD It has a usb charging lead and is very effective. Avon Skin so Soft is used by lots of folk now, very pleasant to use and it works!
  12. I think I’m right in saying that the two public moorings BB had to offer were not in any specific place. The boatyard put you where they have room which means of course that they can always say they have no spaces. These moorings, any of the planning permission associated ones in fact, do not have to be free as far as I know.
  13. Could be a wild goose chase Ray! 😁
  14. We often see this guy in amongst a flock of Canada geese, usually somewhere above Surlingham. I finally got a shot of him (?) in Whitlingham Country Park today. I’m hoping there is another Barnacle goose somewhere to keep him company!
  15. I just couldn’t resist taking this earlier today, seems the cathedral was under its own spotlight!
  16. The footpath between Rockland Short Dyke moorings and the village is closed at present. They have started refurbishing (I think) the footpath and it is fully closed until 8 October.
  17. from me too. I’m sure you’ll eventually find what you want. Just keep on lookin’!
  18. I’m inclined to agree with this but I know naming and shaming is a no-no. Maybe a pm to the member might be in order if feelings are really strong?
  19. All I can say is ‘wow’! What a final, what a player! We have a tennis champion again!
  20. Reading the report again, it’s debatable where exactly the boat was stolen from. The OP said bright lights were being shone into the boats moored at Cox’s and down Paddy’s Lane, not sure what that would achieve.
  21. Agreed but it sounds as though the boat went missing from Barton Broad or have I got that wrong?
  22. We have antibacterial wipes in the car for use on shopping trolleys and hand sanitiser for use after shopping. I also carry sanitiser in my handbag and sometimes that gets used on a trolley too! If these things can help ward off colds and flu then why not?
