We found two slats glued together make excellent sail battons for the enterprises! I reckon some cut to half your planking width will make excellent spoiling boards for when you come to plank the fwd end? Throughly enjoying your project

It's normally the nut that holds the steering wheel you have to keep an eye on!

A couple of years ago I 'escorted' two hire boats from Wroxham to Salhouse after dark. Wroxham was absolutely sardined and none of us were getting under the bridge to the completely empty moorings the other side due to extremely high tides. I got them to put torches on their roofs. We had all got caught out. It was far safer to take them to somewhere safe using my lights than leave them to blunder about in the pitch black. I did wonder about mudweight on Wroxham broad but we all had dogs on board... I think the increasing lack of moorings is more the issue here

Brilliant. Thanks everyone. There is, of course, more available so keep those orders coming. Our next stage will be to submit the pictures for voting on. Because time is a bit short this year we are going to get a week to submit them and then a week to vote so watch this space for updated news flashes. Now I'm not clever enough to do the software thing that makes it happen and the tech team are worked off their keyboards at the minute with all this server change stuff so I cant give you an exact date for voting yet, but I will make sure everyone has as much notice as I can. I am told that the picture with the most votes is used for the front cover followed by the 12 that you all choose accordingly. I hope there will be a couple of Christmas ones... Not for the calender of course, just to wind old Pesky up (its only October)

Seeings as there is no restriction of use on private boats I would suggest that some vessels easily match days out and about of an average hire boat. Its the hire boats that keep the pubs and broads based facilities going - well you know what I mean. Perhaps a more careful spend of the toll revenue would allow the hire boat multiplier to be reduced without costing the private boaters the shortfall?

Would that saving be passed on to the hirer? If so then I am all for it!

I believe them that are clever have checked that we have the same software as last year available so there will be a seperate thread for you to upload them and vote for them shortly. I know there is a certain criteria for these pictures which will be explained when the the next stage is reached. In the meantime keep the orders coming. Almost half way there now! p.s. - Gracie, be careful what you wish for! Those of us with a nervous disposition would probably not survive anything other than the broadland scenes. That Pesky one posing could shiver me old timbers!

No choccy will be harmed in the making of this beautiful piece of broadland art. However, your favourite boat could end up with egg all over her stem post if, having begged for the chance to make this happen for 2017, she fails to show enough support for it...

Oh you lucky lucky lot! I have it on very good authority that if I can show 25 pre orders for a proper NBN 2017 calendar then the powers that be would let us have one after all... So, place your orders here and dust off those pictures ready for submission so we can get it all in place in double quick time and I don't have nothing over the bench to look at in January. Price will be a bargain £12 each including postage and if they allow me to post them out I promise to seal each one with a nice big boaty kiss How can you resist eh? To start it off I will have two.
