  1. Absolutely nobody ? I don't think that is very accurate.
  2. I think the lack of courtesy is more down to ignorance than badness. I think some people think they are the only ones on the river πŸ˜‚
  3. I always stopped off there when South , enjoyed a swim ( being the athlete that I am πŸ˜†) Was great to have a long hot shower and work off some off the holiday indulgences. Then reward myself with a coup!e of beers . Had an exceptionally good night fishing one year there also . Some proper specimens in abundance, it lasted a good couple of hours . Going back years , there was a great wee family room as well . The old rough and ready pubs of the broads were part of its charm . Good honest people in them , playing pool , darts, dominoes and the like . Chicken in a basket or a steak pie πŸ˜‹. I don't take well to change , it's certainly not always for the better .πŸ˜“
  4. It is not limited to the broads , trust me .
  5. That’s not a good tale . Plenty places to go for a rowdy holiday , the broads isn’t one of them . And my Mums ashes are in Salhouse broad , so they better start showing some respect πŸ˜’ Hope you still manage a lovely night , you are at least still on the broads , and I’ve got work tomorrow 😒
  6. My point , a few posts ago , was really driven by a certain type of folk , who tend to run about in transits . I’m aware we’ve got to watch what we say on here, but of course I’m not talking about your average joe who owns a transit type van ( I have owned a few ) . But we all probably know what/whom I mean. These people have no fear of the law, they are almost untouchable. My point was, Singapore authorities wouldn’t care who they are, or what card they played, the perpetrators would have felt the full force of the law, and trust me, it is a deterrent, it quite simply works. My young lad was there for 8 months , he never seen a mugging , a drunken brawl or seen anyone taking or god forbid selling illegal substances. I left Singapore convinced , their way was the way forward . The people are happy, hard working and respectful. Nothing comes to mind which isn’t legal there , that isnt here ( in regard to lifestyle choices, socialising etc) . The people certainly are not oppressed. There really only is one rule, , β€œfollow the rules , and you will be fine πŸ˜›β€ Im blethering on a bit here πŸ˜†, my point is , as a country we need to learn again , we don’t know it all , we think we do , but that was a long time ago , and we could do with looking at other models in regard to how we deal with crime.
  7. I agree , that education and respect are key in changing attitudes and behaviours. But whatever Singapore are doing , and the threat of long sentences doing hard Labour is very real , they are doing it better than this part of world. America , is a some what strange comparison , as this is a country which allows you to purchase automatic rifles , but you will struggle to buy steel tipped darts , as they are deemed too dangerous . πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
  8. 3 men in a white transit πŸ€”. There is a certain section of our society who sadly don't contribute anything to the well being of our nation. If only we could tell who they were πŸ€”. It's such a mystery 😐. I was in Singapore last year . There are signs about telling you anyone caught stealing will get 5 years ( in a not very nice establishment) Strangely enough , There is very little crime in the country . Weird eh ? πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„
  9. Unfortunately, the grizzlies are in decline up here in Bonnie Scotland . The haggis are eating their young . On the "Wee Scotland " dig 😍, here is a lovely wee fact for you too digest with your cucumber sandwiches πŸ˜‹ There is more water in Nessies pond , than there is in all the combined lakes of England and Wales . And it's not even our largest or deepest loch . Everyday is a school day 😘
  10. Yes , Scotland has two seasons , May and winter πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  11. Sounds like a normal Saturday night out for you πŸ˜˜πŸ˜„ I think the weather folk have got their maps muddled up just now . It's almost tropical here in Bonnie Scotland the last coup!e of days . Very strange . The polar bears up here are not happy πŸ€—
  12. Keep up the fight , you got this fella πŸ’š
  13. Where is this ? With the rise and fall levels it must be close to Breydon, but the terraced housing has me confused?
  14. I'm meeting a few long standing friends , going for a beer or two , then going to to the Hibs game . I then have a nice night planned with my good lady and another couple whom we have been friends with for a long time . A night in with good food , drinks and laughs . It's really just another Saturday for me . I hope everyone has lovely day.
  15. Yeah , sounds are unique on the broads also. I've always been convinced every boat must come with a hidden wood pigeon 😁. Every where you moor , you can guarantee to hear one cooing away 😘. Can't always see him , but always hear him πŸ˜…πŸ˜…. Or is that just me daft again πŸ˜„?. The way the diesel fumes react with the water πŸ’š, even the chemical toilet is comforting πŸ€—. My brain knows where I am when my senses pick up the signs 😍
  16. I agree . My sister's are forever asking me about all sorts of boats regarding what they have on board etc. My answer is always the same " as long as it's clean, the cooker works , the toilets and showers function and it's floats then happy days. At the end of the day you are on the broads , that's the important thing" Also I'm not sure it's equivalent to camping , when asked by others who have never been what it's like , I often refer it to be a floating caravan. Ahh, I can smell the bacon and coffee as I dream 😊. It's funny how everyday things have a unique smell on the broads. Even the rain smells good πŸ˜‡
  17. I would love to comment further on the matter and give my views , but I suspect that would contravene the tos on here , so better not . Needless to say , I agree it is a very expensive vanity project.
  18. Head a off banging brick your wall . 're-arrange these words to reveal an apt saying πŸ˜‹. It may also help with the frustration. πŸ˜‰
  19. The boat - which is 5.1m wide, 21.5m long and weighs 44,000kg - will be escorted by police on Monday, April 24, at 9am. Surely 2am would be a more sensible time for all concerned?
  20. Your last sentence is bang on the money . Nothing is risk free ,.and if we spent too much time thinking about things , we wouldn't leave the house . Wrong place.,.Wrong time is not a fact of law , but it is is in life . Sadly . If it makes a few folk on here take bit more care , then at least something has come from this tragedy.
  21. It's all so sad . And a timely reminder to all of us who go boating that you need to keep your wits about you at all times . No more so than around the mouth of the river where things can go so wrong , so quickly.
  22. Yet it appears it's always the top end boats which get hired out first. If you try and look for a last minute deal it's all the budget boats which are available. People in the UK will keep accepting higher cost of living. It's what we do . The French on the other hand seem to protest at any opportunity . It's a strange phenomenon.
  23. I love my football. But how a club can spend near on Β£600 million on p!ayers in a season is obscene. Not to mention what the wage bill must be . The EPL is certainly not the game of the working man anymore . That β›΅ has long sailed . It's quite sad actually.
  24. CAN PAY WON'T PAY WHEN DON'T WE PAY EVERYDAY πŸ˜‹πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜πŸ˜…πŸ˜€
  25. I didn't realise he passed away while on the broads. A nice silver lining to a dark cloud. He was certainly passionate and knowledgeable about the broads. It's amazing how you get the feeling of a right decent person while never have had the privilege of meeting them . That goes for a few folk on here for me , past and present.
