  1. That’s the second shipment of Class 43s and Mark 3 carriages to go.. The First shipment went to Mexico and This shipment is off to Africa..
  2. We always shop around every year and can not find anything cheaper than ours.. And ours don’t seem to go up much a matter of a few quid £8 rise this year on both cars, we can’t grumble on that. I limit my mileage on the policy and low excess. We use Adrian Flux we have been with them for the last 11 years very good 👍
  3. Abit of winter prep today. To soon to go on at moment. 🤣
  4. So Clive the big Question is would you base any boats south and run a southern yard. I for one would definitely be a customer and many more ex silverline customers to 👍
  5. Personally the Southern broads needs more or another Hire yard.. Then it gives the option to stay south or explore both north and south. Realistically you only have 2 hire yards on the south that have boats what can fit under the low bridges.. Broom have a couple of Boleros and pacific have a few boats what can.. But that is very limited boats on the southern side.. I would have thought this would be an ideal opportunity for the other yards to step in now and launch a southern yard.
  6. I think the boat yards need to realise that banging up the prices is not going to attract new and returning customers . All this fuel inclusive in the price is a con.. At least before you knew where you stood with that. It was always nice to have a little back on return. Personally I think the Southern Broads now from hirers point of view is extremely limited now. What has basically stopped a lot of people from hiring from down south with loss of silverline. I would have thought at least one of the big yards on the North side would take an advantage of this and set up an operation on the southern rivers even with a small fleet of boats.
  7. Silver mystique is best boat we’ve ever Hired. It’s so practical easy to move about. Comfortable well fitted out. We should have been on her in September but as she has moved up on the Dark side it scuppered are southern plans. Looks like your having fun on her Simon👍 Enjoy the rest of your Holibobs 👍👍
  8. So does that mean you are No longer aloud to go up the dyke and turn around and come back out ..?
  9. Perhaps it was Elton John playing there yesterday 🤣🤣🤣
  10. And they wonder why the pub trade is dieing..
  11. Is this the same lot who opened up a cafe next to the pub a few years back ..?
  12. The way things are going on the broads is going to be a massive turn off to anyone thinking of coming on holiday or considering buying a boat.. What a complete shambles moorings disappearing, moorings now you have to pay for what was free, And toll increases, what’s next paying for bridge swings. ‼️
  13. Congratulations 🎉 What a fantastic river .. Had many happy times and years on the Ouse. Hopefully one day would love to explore it again.
  14. Not been with Taki talk for nearly 6 years thank god, but they still call me saying I have problems with router 🤣🤣.. They was absolutely crap .. it was Quicker to send emails 2nd class with Snail mail il stick to BT 👍👍
  15. I was lucky a few years ago when I was out in Jersey I brought back some JR seed potatoes 🥔 from a grower out there who I know . Planted them had a lovely crop from them only problem they didn’t taste the same.. was missing the sea air the granite soil and the sea weed kelp. That’s what the secret is of them 👍
  16. Asking for a friend 🤣🤣 Does this Charter lark come with a Captain and crew and trolly dolly’s and Duty free by any chance ???
  17. Well any excuse to charge more.. Sorry the prices in the last couple of years have gone stupid.. I mean even now they say the fuel on some hire yards the fuel is inclusive of the price of the hire what’s an absolute con.. So there basically making on that.. At this rate Holidaymakers will come wise on this. It doesn’t matter how much they love the broads they will not pay the silly high prices that the yards want. And find else where to go on Holiday..
  18. Steve at Beecles we always use him.. it’s always best to phone him about half hour before you get there.. As he might be not there or he’s busy in the shed working.. Just gives him the heads up and he knows you’re arriving.
  19. Ooooh Very Nice 👌.. Happy Boating 👍👍
  20. If your at Oulton Broad a visit to Lowestoft Definitely go to The Iconic Restaurant... Absolutely fabulous.. Great food great value and The gents toilets is off a different planet 🤣🤣🤣👍👍 Even FF enjoys The Iconic IMG_8616.mov
  21. It’s just gonna stop people coming to the broads at this rate with these hidden charges. I for one wouldn’t pay it. The hire yards have increased so paying extra for Moorings on a mooring what has been free is an absolute insult and rip off.. If anymore stupid increases like these happen on other moorings Will definitely be the final nail in the coffin for lots of hirers and boaters who enjoy the broads.. it’s really making me think is it worth going. You need holidays to enjoy not going away and being ripped off. That’s my opinion on the situation on it
  22. I think those yokos I had must of had 7001 miles on them Mouldy that’s why I crashed 🤣🤣
  23. Blimey im quite shocked you saying that. I don’t know how far you’re going back with that. I was in tyre testing for Avon Tyres in the late 80s to 94 and the Michelins use to come out on top on all tests. We use to do with all the other Tyre manufacturers it use to be swings and roundabouts with the other tyre manufacturers good in dry terrible in wet. Norway was the best test for artic testing had some great fun out there in a MG maestro turbo at the time. Michelin Truck Tyres well that’s another top secret story. No other tyre manufacturer can match the magical of retreading a case up to 3 times and sometimes even 4 times that’s the French for you . You was so lucky to get free tyres we was only aloud 20% discount off of ours if we bought them. In one case I had a friend at ATS he could get 20% off so he would get mine cheaper then I would get a further 20% off and basically I was getting the tyres cheaper than what it was to manufacture at the time 🤣🤣
  24. FF you won’t beat Michelin. Best tyre on the market always have and always will be . You won’t beat their secret recipe in there tyre technology. Funny you say that about Yokohamas a set I had on my Old SD1 Vitesse nearly killed me when I wrapped it around a lovely old oak tree.. They had lost their grip and died. It had the silly tread pattern of dots on the outer quarter of the the tyre. Even rotational at the time. I was going to Change them when I got the car as I had a set brand new Avon CR228s Blue Orange compounds sat in the garage. Wish I did now as I loved that car 😢
