The "kick" Of The Propellor
lakesailor replied to Vaughan's topic in Technical Questions and Answers
Great explanation Vaughan very helpful to have a better understanding of how the prop affects your steering etc Hopefully this will help with my awful stern on moorings -
Never hired a bathtub always preferred centre cockpit myself but after seeing this video I'm very tempted to hire one for a cheeky cheap few days away end of season

Hi Alan I did guess that it was original message you had forwarded and had typo errors for the date. It made me laugh seeing the BA had send it with wrong dates -

Good luck Robin with the lessons and finally the driving test . Once you passed it then you will begin to actually learn to begin to actually drive and not just pass the test ! I passed my car test back in 1988 and have since done 3 more driving tests .. HGV 2, HGV 1.and Institute of advanced motorists Advanced driving test and I would definitely recommend that if you can you have a motorway lesson and a skid pan lesson as they are in my view invaluable.

I totally agree with that !

Just to keep this thread going of on a tangent , your spot on with that summary Ranworthbreeze. I grew up in Windermere spend my youth waterskiing, sailing and just generally mucking about in boats . My ummer holiday job was hiring out self drive day boats and rowing boats at Bowness and then worked in a boatyard there when left school. Then along came the speed limit and overnight the amount of boats that left windermere was unbelievable and along with that so the restuarants and shops all suffered as people with disposable incomes weren't there any more. Jobs and skills in the boatyards were lost never to be replaced and the the area is like a ghost town compared with before . I would hate to see the broads go like that
