  1. We did buy one from IKEA but left it on board Moonlight Shadow when it was difficult to source gas.
  2. Won’t Richardson’s need to uphold the original booking terms? It would be very unfair if they didn’t.
  3. You lot have something to answer for…worse than adverts. Yes, I’ve succumbed and bought a Ninja multi cooker. Ninja, Amazon and John Lewis were all out of stock, so I got mine from AO for the same price, an eye watering £199. However, I can already see it’s going to cut down of the fuel bills. Tried some air fried frozen chips yesterday lunchtime. Half the time that they would take in the oven and 100% better. Yesterday evening, we had some peri peri chicken thighs…again half the time compared to oven roasting and so much better. This evening I tried out the pressure cooker option. A pumpkin and sweetcorn Thai curry, which was over cooked (too soft). I think 10 minutes with auto decompression would have been enough instead of 20 minutes. I have plans to try out roasting a whole chicken tomorrow.
  4. Hmm…Bramble and Purdey are slightly different prospects as far as sitting on owners lap goes. I can just about cope with Seren. Pozzick…no way.
  5. It does look rather pricey. Almost £6 for a bowl of porridge! I can understand the full-english being pricey though if it's made from farm shop ingredients, and it's not that much more than full-english's in cafes in farm shops (I looked at La Hogue on the A11 and Vera's Coffee Shop near Weyford Bridge).
  6. Has the seafood restaurant they were running closed down, or is it seasonal?
  7. Where did the Wherry end up? It looks most peculiar approaching at that angle. That’s a quant pole and a half!
  8. Have a great time on MS next weekend. Hope the weather is decent for you.
  9. Love how you’ve christened Desmond ‘Diva Dog’.
  10. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend, with great weather. We were around early November last year and, apart from the odd rainy day, saw more sun than we had the previous June. Thanks for posting Sam.
  11. By the way Chris we have had to adjust Pozzick’s diet. He started to get the ‘runs’ during the second week we had him. I mentioned your advice to Graham and he introduced some cereal mixer into Pozzick’s diet (half and half with the Yora) to cut down on the protein, which seemed to do the trick. Graham consulted the vet when he took Pozzick for his second inoculation and the vets advice was to continue with that mix.
  12. How time flies! My eldest was born in 1990. It both seems like yesterday and an age ago.
  13. We’ve happened to have several years’ winter allocations on Moonlight Shadow in early February and have experienced high river levels every time…but also very low levels just before or after, or in between. Last February when we arrived we had to get onto the boat via the roof (the fixed bit, not the canopy!) as the water level was so low. By the end of the week some parts of the Marina were flooding.
  14. Another thing we’ve noticed. Until recently Pozzick’s nose was very dry. It’s become a lot more moist recently. Like a dog’s nose is supposed to be. We think it’s to do with having been undernourished for quite some time.
  15. The only boat we’ve been on that had a reverse camera was Turquoise Emblem and I’m pretty sure the camera only worked when the engine was running.
  16. Yes, he’s certainly building up his stamina. It’s really lovely seeing the two of them have so much fun chasing each other when out on walks. Seren didn’t know what fun she was missing out on when she was an ‘only dog’.
  17. One thing I should have mentioned with the videos of the dogs running with son Alec. For the first few weeks, Pozzick really couldn't keep up with Seren. Being undernourished had really taken a toll on him. His back legs seemed quite weak. Anyway, the last week or so he has been gaining in energy and fitness. He can now catch Seren up, but even so, she's more nippy than he is and can change direction more quickly.
  18. We spent the last few days in Anglesey, checking up on how Graham's dad is doing. We spent most of the weekend cleaning his house. Unfortunately, Age Cymru (Welsh version of Age Concern) hadn't told us his cleaner had resigned a few months back. Anyway, between our cleaning efforts, we did manage to take the dogs to the beach for exercise. We chose Porthdafarch beach, which was my dad's favourite. Some photos from Saturday.
  19. Pozzick is all set for our next trip on Moonlight Shadow. Son Harry bought him a buoyancy aid.
  20. Sorry, I should have uploaded these last month! PXL_20221028_110552534.TS.mp4 PXL_20221028_110446386.TS.mp4

    Bird Flu

No, I think it was BBC. Not one of your ‘hyped’ productions…more based on actual research. Quite dry and boring in production values, which I usually think is a good thing.

    Bird Flu

I saw a programme several years back on the subject of flu viruses tending to originate in China. They put forward a theory that it was because of their habit of raising pigs and birds (chickens) in close proximity, so although humans don’t normally catch avian flu, pigs can, and then the viruses are transmittable from pigs to humans.
  23. Thank you. I am suitably flattered and preening myself as a fully paid up Broads nutcase.
  24. I’m loving this thread, but it does make me feel like I had a deprived childhood. I didn’t of course…only as far as having childhood memories of the Broads. I think I’ve made up for it since then.
