Sadly I think the definition of affordable housing is anything but affodable. Take shared ownership which is classed as affordable housing. Half of a lot of a money is still a lot of a money and a mortgage deposit is often unobtainable for those that need affordable housing. What happened to social housing?

I wonder how many jobs will go? Do they have training programmes for youngsters? This is a blow to current and future practical skilled British workers and the loss an iconic brand.

I did a week out of Richardsons in Stalham with some Family including my Mum last year. I did a blog - it was a lot of cruising and picked up lots of nice places. I'll post the link.

I'll echo what others have said re. Norwich you really shouldn't discount it. And to visit a big city by water is a unique experience and one you're unlikely to be able to do as easily in other cities. I also recommend St Olaves. It's a handy stop with a nice pub enroute to or from the north if you're not going up the Yare.

I am aware of an incident whereby 1st time hirers (a couple) collided with a moored holiday boat in the yard allegedly causing pain to the solo occupant (a seasoned hirer awaiting crew). The injured party contacted a no win no fee solicitor, who I believe are persuing the hire company.
