  1. Re the eBay boat again go look see if not too far but the Johnson ob sounds like a classic; in other words it could be very old, look immaculate on the outside... but be soft on the inside!
  2. Wouldn’t bother with looking at this unless you’re on the doorstep. ....due to time waster may tell you what you may find out after a wasted journey!
  3. Keep an eye on the police auction website, maybe the dinghies towed into Kent by the border control vessels will be put up at some point and there could well be some bargains judging by the quantity shown by the media which will I guess need disposing of. Sad state of affairs but I’d hate to see products of crime going to landfill or being burnt / scrapped.
  4. Being a life long Pam Ayers fan I’m looking forward to seeing more of your poetry. Welcome aboard!
  5. Is it the trawler yacht?
  6. Jay, I love your cruising tales, broadside pubs guide, fridge inventories and much more besides. All the best for your next chapter, I hope it continues to bring us all more of your banter, summer or winter, day or night time, goodbye ‘shadow but hopefully not the end of the mooring line?
  7. Or a lorry component, purely based on a comment from a friend who is sadly no longer with us but did do a stint at martham many years ago on the engineering side in the early days. Sounds like you’re having a nice time!
  8. Tell em to stick this in their nanny dishwasher as well!
  9. I'd echo your comments on Cromer based on a brief trip there last Friday, hardly anyone wearing masks as you say, pavements heaving, people mustering around pedestrian crossings... my wife got out of the car with mask, glasses & gloves on did what she needed to asap and then we headed out pronto. Certainly shan't be returning to Coronner until the silly season is over and maybe not even until 2021. Had the air ambulance land across the way yesterday, looked to be another victim needing extra attendance and equipment for the road ambulance to carry on its way. Lots of PPE!
  10. Good evening Tony! Welcome to the Norfolk Broads Network.

    New Inn Horning

They’re looking for staff according to some FB posts I’ve seen.
  12. I see Doncaster is on the supposed govt. official list of places that could be locked down again along with Leicester, Bradford and Barnsley. I'm guessing visitors to the broads from these parts may have an excuse to extend their stay if indeed they need it. Enjoy and bring a summers supply of clothes etc.!
  13. Is it the old one that was on a buoy on the broad for years, but for sale on eBay a couple of years back, being re-built? New heads, old shoulders!
  14. Seen the tweets, 300 signatures for his campaign now. Scrolling down I see the dog has been put down. Off the lead.... but inadequate control measures in place evidently. As Mr W states could have been a child. Dogs that can’t be controlled need to be kept on the lead or wear a muzzle if they can’t enjoy a little freedom at home. Wishing M speedy healing so he can get back to painting his boat.
  15. Not sure if it was a case of consent was never taken away rather than given, I think the time my father started skiing on the Yare back in the 60s there were no speed limits, it may be that the introduction led to the current compromise. In truth a broads yacht can probably cause as much if not more damage to the banks especially if it fails to tack and misses the river!
  16. The case seems to have more twists than a twisty turny thing... only today I read an article about Vian’s nephew who says his mum told him Vian did do it... whilst said nephew was training up to be a detective. Hmmm, whodunnit indeed? More to the point who seems to care except for the poor family of the victim, I hope they get answers but I don’t hold out much hope after so much time and missed opportunities have seemingly passed. RIP Mr Morgan, if that’s possible after a low life has left an axe in your head and taken your expensive timepiece but left the money to perhaps suggest it was about something other than money. Maybe the next televising will stir someone’s conscience and properly put this gruesome matter to rest.
  17. Pleased no one was hurt and hope as many of the staff as possible can be redeployed elsewhere in the B&L stores & associated companies such as the builders merchants. Theres never a good time to be made redundant but it seems a bad time if it ends up that way for any employee. A definite blow to Holt, this is my in-laws nearest grocery store and has been a godsend especially in the C' lockdown. From a rebuild perspective I've always thought this a big roof for this type of covering and looks out of proportion, albeit not as big as NNDC's offices, I hope the rebuild is an opportunity to put something nicer back even if 'modern', albeit probably more fireproof (I know and currently work with the foreman who supervised the roof build and he said it was a 'biggun' and had some structural worries, unfounded however as the steel was obviously well up to the job looking at whats left...
  18. Was the one referred to by 650xs up on gum tree recently, aka the spunky coypu?
  19. Looking forward to libraries reopening so I can borrow a copy of Fahrenheit 451, only ever seen the film but with current events an historical perspective might make an interesting read, just hope any remaining copies haven’t been burnt!
  20. Lol Paul Ive caught the snooker, how the players perform so differently in comparison to when theres an audience. Even the ref got his scores in a twist yesterday when he realised the score didn’t add up and had to pause the game whilst he checked with the someone only to conclude without watching the game so far, would the players be happy to accept and carry on etc.... gross miscueduct! Might catch on though, once people get used to the new world!
  21. Welcome! Maybe Mayfair from Maycraft, the Hampton boats are rare these days but very practical. For two and ease of mooring etc. it could fit the bridge.
  22. Not the horses, the ones who see fit to throw missiles, maybe there isn't a word for them.
  23. "Stay alert We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must: stay at home as much as possible work from home if you can limit contact with other people keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)..." Do we need a 'Charlie says' style ad campaign to get the message through, I don't think the current tv ads quite cut it judging by the behaviour of the animals.
  24. Not sure why some protesters see fit to throw fireworks around. Particularly when there are horses who don’t have a choice about being there. How would they like a distress flare landing in their camp?
  25. In terms of sailing production cruisers witnessed on the broads with raisable keels, the Evolution 19 seemed a better sailor than the Swift and the Beneteau First (25’ish) seems nice given it can go under Potter. The Southerlys look the business in the wider market but not sure if the smallest in the range would still be too big. The Pegasus range seemed to work well too, shame they didn’t continue to develop, was it the turn of the 90s recession that sunk them?
