  1. No blame attaches to the vast majority of decision makers doing their best in exceptional circumstances. Reviews all over the world of different approaches taken are very sensible in order that we can all be better prepared next time. If in rare cases these reviews reveal reckless behaviour then specific blame can and should be applied to those responsible if they caused more death and suffering... not through lack of knowledge which is understandable but as I say through reckless decisions.
  2. We use the Indian at Repps as well, very nice food 👍
  3. Also at the chip shop end is Broadland House vets, good to know if holidaying with your pets. In addition to being handy they are lovely people and really helpful.
  4. Things change.... today's youngsters will one day miss how things are now! It's just the way of the world I'm afraid. When we first visited Stalham it still had the wednesday market with an auctioneer walking from lot to lot laid out on the ground, loved it and miss it but I also used to think that a torch with different colour lenses that you could rotate through was high tech enough to be almost sci fi 😂
  5. Looking good Malc, we are missing being under way too, it's been a long wet winter. We have some work booked with Paul as well. Once the season is under way it would be nice to meet up for a lunch again if you and your good lady are up for a pint and a bite 🙂 Following some issues I alluded to a while back we both now eat meat and drink alcohol again.... thank goodness 😂
  6. It's easier to list the pubs that aren't dog friendly, the only 2 that have said no to us are the Ingham Swan and that big one in Oulton Broad who's name escapes me. In both cases outside was OK, no criticism intended, both are fine establishments who simply make their rules around the dining comfort of other patrons
  7. Cracking set of photos Griff, beautiful pooches clearly living the best lives, great to see 👍

    Flooding

I know exactly what you mean... and so does my Mrs! We both grew up in Greenford! Happy Days 👍
  9. Great photo, very envious 🙂👍
  10. Can be very frustrating when hiring, the problems are a bit more manageable with your own boat (at least for a while) as 'there are steps you can take'... figuratively and literally. My mum is fond of saying "old age doesn't come alone" although she can't seem to get her head around the fact that both her children are pensioners!
  11. You'll see a lot more Kingfishers and other assorted wildlife too 👍
  12. I found that really moving to watch, what an apt and poignant farewell to our friend and NBN Family member.
  13. The way Ian lived his life was clearly reflected in the respect of so many. A fitting send off for a genuine nice guy who's legacy includes making a real difference to others. RIP Ian

    Stracy Arms

Hopefully no one will ever need it but there is now a Defibrillator Cabinet, it is on the outside wall of the Temple on the side nearest the road.
  15. I believe Humber Coastguard task resources whenever they receive a 999 call, given that the volunteers at Hemsby ILB are regularly tasked clearly they are an important and much appreciated emergency service. If they need help relocating I have no doubt that the local community will do all they can. Just as our recently lost friend Ian did 👍
  16. Ian was an inspiration in the way he dealt with all that life threw at him and despite those challenges was still actively helping others. He will be much missed. Sincere condolances to his family.
  17. Great to hear more good news 👍
  18. Another vote for Sutton Staithe Boatyard - https://suttonstaitheboatyard.co.uk/
  19. Brilliant to hear more positive news 👍 Good thoughts and wishes from us as before.
  20. Ian is such a fighter, a real inspiration in the way he has handled everything life throws at him. Thinking of you all and especially sending the best hopes and wishes to Ian himself.
  21. All positive thoughts and wishes to him from our family to yours.
  22. Thinking of you Ian and sending all good wishes to return home asap. Starting to eat again can only be a good sign 👍
  23. Nice to have something to do in the early hours when I can't sleep. Yes, it is Norwich. It may have been colourised from a black and white photo, losing some detail. There is a copyrighted photo that is almost identical on a Newsprint Website. I cant post that here obviously but there is a legitimate to view version with © notice on their for sale page here https://images.app.goo.gl/wcEGNVyutimiDMtU8 Much easier to tell it's Norwich from that one.
