  1. Yeah ,I get emails like that too, if I took them all up bits of me would reach to yorkshire, and Griff would love it... Edit: that was a reply to OBB's post but stupid phone lost that bit. Here we go, modded again.
  2. He's from norfolk! He needs a babelfish not a smartphone..... Smartphones give every language option except norfolkese.
  3. I don't need a headtorch for that......
  4. It's always worth carrying a pair of cheap bike lights on the broads for just such times, preferably one with a bit of velcro attached so you can stick the red on your shoulder facing back and not have to worry about what's coming up behind you walking on the edge of the road.
  5. So it's wrong to discuss something in case someone gets offended, that's how issues get ignored till it's too late. Anyone not happy with a thread is always able to ignore it and we can't all be expected to agree with each other just to keep the peace.
  6. I had 5 Z650's at one point in various guises plus a couple of trailie bikes, one's never enough! Being good now and sticking to two.
  7. The Ram is just under half a mile from the mooring, take a torch for the boardwalk through the marsh though, you will have to cross the railway so be careful if going with youngsters. Can't remember how far to coop but not much further.
  8. Oh crap! I don't get accused of that very often, in my defence I had been drinking, been drinking some more since......
  9. I seem to recal the fee payable for a longer stay is to do with rockland staithe and nothing to do with church fen, I believe there is also a similar fee to use the slip at rockland. Not sure why everyone is getting hot under the collar about it, any mooring should be used as "at your own risk" and decisions made as you approach as to wether or not it's safe to moor there, that is basic navigation skills as well as darwinism, most moorings have the ability to be slippery as hell when wet. Disclaimer: I don't care if anyone overstays at the non BA part of church fen as it's not my business, I also don't care you slip over doing so as I won't feel it, however if you catch it on video I would like to see it as it could be funny!
  10. If you use £30 in a year 1pmobile looks to be a good bargain on the EE network but I generaly don't spend that much if I can help it, they want a £10 top up every 4 months.
  11. They do well out of the bridge, you can't get out to spend your money anywhere else...
  12. I have no desire to have a monthly contract as I use my phone very little, it's data I use most but wifi where I can so I stick to airtime credit. I curently still have £35 credit with giffgaff due to their "share the love" deal when they had a promotion last may (on top of the usual £5 kick back both me and "friend" got £10 credit free), I introduced 3 friends and got £45 in kick backs to my account, all 3 friends were me on different email addresses so I got to use that credit too, it cost me £26 total to activate/top-up the sims and I got £30 worth of airtime plus a months goodybag with 500mb of data (on top of the £45 credit to my regular number) just as we were going off on the boat for 2 weeks, the spare sims went in to a tablet and a gps tracker. Ain't I a stinker..... (said in bugs bunny voice)
  13. If the dredging was done in the marked channels and was needed I would say the fact that the spoil was used for conservation is irrelevent, in fact using the spoil close to where it's dredged from cuts the cost of the dredging, that cost being from navigations budget, it also helps to grease the wheels with other agencies who may oppose dredging when getting conservation in the mix. I'm not very pro BA but that makes sense to me.
  14. How does three do as a broads phone signal? Mostly southern broads. Giffgaff are about to hike their payg tariffs so I have just got a 3 sim (I have a dual sim phone so will finish the credit first) which offers 3p/min 2p/text 1p/Mb with no regular top up's required so seems too good to me. I guess payg is not worth giffgaff's efforts so they seem to be pricing us tightwads out.
  15. It's worth pointing out that the boat in the piccie looking like an overstayer is normally moored just upstream of the moorings where the broad is blocked off and not on the church fen moorings themselves before anyone judges them too harshly.
  16. Mmmm hill waking in norfolk, or mountaineering for fat people even, I can see that idea having legs. Short chubby legs.....
  17. Oh dear, they're gonna need some longer signs..............
  18. As long as it takes haven bridge with it I'm fine with it.
  19. <lie mode> of course we do <\lie mode>
  20. My thoughts entirely, the signs have not been hidden from public view so neither should the discussion, come on mods stop stiffleing genuine concerns of broads users, it looks cowardly.
  21. Just watched it on catchup and quite liked it, definately like that bridge!
