  1. Thanks for the clarification.
  2. I heard a story of water edge not doing food at the moment, has anyone else heard anything? The pub moorings looked busy this morning as did brammerton common.
  3. Some of the garmin chartplotters accept their topo inland mapping, my 557xs does and it was only £20 for the extra map. It wasn't supposed to be compatable according to their lists.
  4. Best spread a phone number around then Mark.... Could come in handy.

    Bye Bye

If someone is off will they care if it's against tos to post it?
  6. £40/hr + VAT at johnsons yacht station.
  7. Theres quite a few where the shower just goes into the bilge to be pumped out by the bilge pump, crap idea if you ask me but cheap and easy to do I guess.
  8. Pic 2 looks like happisburgh lighthouse (not hasbro) so should be easy to find on a map, sorry have nothing useful on the rest.

    Bye Bye

I find the last bit of that very petty, not a dig at you JohnK but a dig at forum rules where to mention the opposition is a sin, different forums appeal to different folk for different reasons, wouldn't the world be a boring place if we were all the same.
  10. And "broad" sounds so much better than " water filled derelict industrial workings" which doesn't make it sound nearly so tempting to play on.
  11. And I thought it was just the yank rozzers that had the reputation for doughnuts!
  12. Wasn't it an online personality test that cambridge analytica used to harvest lots of personal data.... I won't be taking it.
  13. The wind is due to drop later, tomorrow should be ok.
  14. Is miles weston banned from your marina then?
  15. That's because you've not drunk enough!
  16. For my bathing platform and steps I used a wood/plastic composite from a place in okehampton, I got some samples first and slung one in the parts washer at work for a week, 60 degrees and a detergent mix didn't soften it so should be fine, machined well too. https://www.wpc-decking.co.uk/
  17. Just place a mirror on the floor, if you recognise what you see you are fine, if it's a dim and distant memory you have issues.
  18. Now this is a good balanced thread, discussing being obese and the best black pudding in the same topic. Of course the straight weight vs height bmi is a load of old sperical thingies, you can eat the same and exercise and not lose any weight but more of it will be muscle instead of fat (and muscle is heavier), I bet most of the armed forces are obese by this way of measuring.
  19. Read it and weep porky! Don't stop the creaks and pains though or the remains of hair falling out.
  20. I'd recommend surlingham ferryhouse for your last night before heading back to thorpe, give them a bell first and book a spot though as it gets busy these days.
  21. I did see a big wide beam barge on the witham once called enigma, it had a large wheelhouse on top on hydraulic arms that folded over the back to sit behind the main hull, it was just folding back up after coming through torksey lock when I saw it, very impressive design. I will have to try and find some piccies of it. Found it!
  22. It all depends on the design of the arch if it's easy to hinge or not, I have one on the roof of my princess that just needs 2 bolts taking out to swing it down, I can do it in 30 seconds as long as the canopy is down but turn the radar off first or you may get gently cooked.
  23. The daft bit about the glass filter bowl thing is that to check for water you have to let fuel out and bleed which has to be more likely to leave you with a bilge full of diesel than a glance at a filter bowl, and I'd rather be able to have a quick look at sea than have to let air into the system to check. I know it's normally done safely moored up but sometimes things need to be checked underway. Luckily my bss examiner let mine go with see through plastic filters, mind you there is a 2kg fe2000 auto extinguisher sat between them.
  24. The richos hireboat at the st.olaves bell on the saturday of easter weekend needed an electric post inserting somewhere! The engine was running when we went in the pub at 7.00pm and was still running when we came out again at the back of 11.00pm, he looked most put out when we suggested he turned it off as we wanted to sleep (he did turn it off though), I was ready to get the battery drill out with a big holesaw to give the hint....
  25. They can't legally do that, they tried when the posts were first changed and got slapped down, ofgen rules.
