Leaving the taps open allows for some expansion in the system, water is strange in that it is the only thing that expands as it starts to freeze, I think it's to do with the way the atoms align as they crystalise (also why ice floats in water), it won't cause any air locks as it's an open ended pumped system so the air is just pushed out when the pump is powered back up, unlike a closed recirculating loop like a calorifier circuit.

How does all this equate to the flappies? No one ever seems know which way they are going anyway including the crew.

I think the choice was because I'd said I would be outside for any religious service as I don't do them, I have sat through one thinking what a load of old tosh all through a friends funeral and it's a horrible feeling and no way to pay your respects but if you don't believe you don't believe, I'm not seeing my Mum off like that.

Cold and bright is ok but when it's mild it tends to be damp and grey in winter, eberspachers do a wonderful job preferably with a leccy plugin too. When the heating was down in the ferryhouse we did many winter weekends there and took a bag of logs with us each time as the pubs firewood was crap. It would be worth leaving a phone on voice recorder while you're all out of the house for at least an hour to check for whining or howling, while someone is still there they will feel more settled even in a different room.

I've used the app in spoons before but they have no soul to lose anyway, spoons are for when no other decent options are available in my view, cheap aint always the best choice.
