  1. That was my old prep school. Beech Hill House, then Langley Junior School, which merged with Taverham Hall a few years ago. Now owned by a developer and now sure enough, about to be demolished as it is now "insecure" from vandalism My old prep school too.....
  2. My local Screwfix and Toolstation are right next door to each other so not much change of scenery for me! 😬
  3. Yes. That jogs my memory. I think that was Ray and Celia Bondon's house. I think Ray and Celia used to live in the large house "up the drive" from the shop / main quay? I'm going from memory as I was only a child then....
  4. Certainly brought back memories, not least the sailing club boat sheds at Coldham Hall
  5. What's the situation now, does anyone have the current situation! Thanks
  6. That's where my thoughts were going.....
  7. The Cello is not perfect but quite acceptable for the amount we use it. The main thrust of my earlier post was regards mounting: light weight, and crucially universal monitor mounting holes giving access to a wide range monitor brackets including swing out, etc which may be helpful to MM.
  8. Our boat TV is a 22" Cello which is: Lightweight 12/240v Has standard 75mm centre computer mount fixings on the back which give lots of mounting bracket options If any of that is helpful....! Helian
  9. Developers should be forced to redevelop brownfield first but for obvious financial reasons prefer "not previously developed" land (I will avoid the phrase Greenfield as that has specific connotations). Purchasers also prefer less costly new homes on not previously developed land. Planning Inspectorate can also force local authorities to grant planning permission on not previously developed land. So between a rock and a hard place....
  10. I am genuinely shocked at the amount of new houses being built on farm land around Brundall / Blofield, Poringland / Stoke holy Cross and doubtless other fringes of Norwich. I don't understand where the extra demand is coming from these days....
  11. A MHCLG official told me face to face that Govt policy was to flood the market with new houses and depress house prices ...
  12. That's great, she was a lovely boat in her day. I still clearly remember the evening she was launched.
  13. Fifth one down, the Elysian with mahogany and cream top by the windmill, looks very much like Norfolk Spitfire, custom built for my father by R Bondon at South Walsham in 1970. It's still about, with original name. Last seen on the Yare near Langley Dyke summer 2019.
  14. I clearly remember summer '77. We had just finished our o-levels and were waiting to officially finish school. School canoe club took a few of us to Buckenham Ferry for some canoeing. Cant imagine elf-n-safety would allow that now.... Predictably we were all out on the Yare midstream when along came a commercial "coaster". We could feel the "pull" well before it got to us and was actually quite scary. It looked VERY large as it passed 😬. Memories!
  15. I find Vodafone disappointing both down by the river in Brundall at at my in-laws in Lingwood, which is quite open and flat
  16. For the last four years I have laid a wreath on behalf of the residents of my borough; sadly not this year. ☹️
  17. Maybe I'm wrong but does it not roughly balance itself out over time? Sometimes there is no credit and we put a pound in and use 30p, other times we find there is credit which we will use. I would guess that over our 3 years cruising we have probably ended up slightly "up" i.e. used slightly more than we have paid for. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  18. There was a threat a couple of weeks ago about getting anchors ) mudweights to hold on Bargate... Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  19. Assuming cable / rod links (not cable) between throttles and engines surely it's just a matter of adjusting one / both linkages until level throttle positions give same revs? Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  20. Alitalia presumably? Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  21. I'm in almost exactly the same position, so will be watching responses avidly. Thanks to any in anticipation. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  22. This was well explored in another thread the other day. The general concencus there also, was "chuck it". I'd say 45° was the minimum Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  23. Bet they leave the bridges closed tho! Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
  24. I'm not sure if you have to pay extra for a "special" aircraft registration, but once issued to one particular aircraft, it's not transferable to another one. Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
