There is in existence planning consent for the installation of pontoon moorings at Thurne Mouth. I understand that this does not include an electicity supply.
Of course there is wildlife there . It's simply the the LAW doesn't apply there !! As for your opening comment, " Cant see how wildlife has anything to do with fishing"...... best I refrain from further comment !
There are considerable benefits to the Closed Season - and not simply to the fish. Other wildlife besides the fish are breeding at this time and should ne left undisturbed. Then there is the bankside vegetation which is re growing after the winter.
As you point out, there are plenty of private waters which don't have a closed season... if you must!
I saw a Pegasus 800 yacht get stuck on the 'new' profiled bank today. Fairly strong NE winds caught him and put him on a lee shore. He got off eventually. According to one who knows and is there almost every day, the averave groundings are running at about on a week so far thei season.
It will probably get worse........
IT'S STILL THE 'CLOSED SEASON' !
And it will be until midnight on 16th June
Two 'anglers' seen fishing from a boat on the Ant between How Hill and Irsted yesterday morning.
I stopped alongside and called across to advise them, they just looked away and carried on.....
I was first diagnosed about a week before a trip to Portugal. The GP clearly noticed the look of horror on my face as he told me not to eat various things ,especially sardines and to avoid red wine, and particularly Port. He thought it hugely funny when I told him of my holiday plans.
