  1. Too true Griff, but fixing those tiles or in my case an electronic or mechanical repair pays for those times on the boat. Roll on July. Regards Alan
  2. Hi Mark, Sabine Schmitz is a professional racing driver who drives for BMW & Porche, she test drives on the Nurburgring race track, she was featured on Top Gear a couple of years ago when she was trying to beat a record for the fastest speed for a Transit Van (somewhat stripped down) around the Nurburgring race track. Matt LeBlanc (Joey of Friends) was just being himself, I didn't find him too bad. No matter what the rating are my guess is that the BBC will try and keep it going, where as they should have just dropped it, the total fiasco has cost them a fortune in lost worldwide sales, they would have been far better eating humble pie, reprimanding Clarkson and getting on with the job. Regards Alan
  3. We all watched it, I did not like that they kept the same format, the few scripted comments and of course I have never liked Chris Evens. There was talk that Gut Martin was going to be a presenter, but he turned it down. We will be giving it another go, but we will be buying the Amazon dongle. Regards Alan
  4. Hi Mark, The bathing platform now looks very good, have you got any before pictures? Regards Alan
  5. Hi Fred, Even the best of crews get it wrong from time to time. Maybe there was no help on hand, just onlookers saying thats not the way to do it, been there done that (or had it done to me). Most crews do help, take a line and help you in. Regards Alan
  6. Hi John, On the one occasion that I used Peachments I thought they were very proffessional, their price was keen. A bonus for you was that it is just around the corner from your moorings. Regards Alan
  7. Hi Charlie, Can there be such a thing as overload of knowledge? I believe that new boat users be they hirers or owners fall into two categories people who ask questions or heed advice and research before their first outing and then there is the gung ho I just give it a go and see what happens. Regards Alan

  10. Hi Trevor, It looks like a Birchwood 340AC, its difficult to tell from a distance these days since Southern Crusader had their canopy fitted earlier this season. With the subtle clue I guess it is Ranworth Breeze. I noted the rafted/double moored boats in your picture of Bramerton Common, this is one of my top 5 mooring locations. Regards Alan

  17. Hi Polly, I put a loads of knife cuts in the top of the cake so I could drizzle the liqueur into the cake, it takes ages to pour it in but worth it. Good luck by the way. If you get time please could we have a picture. Regards Alan
  18. Hi Grace, You do know that Johnny Depp is back in the market Regards Alan
  19. Hi Paul, It certainly looks better, if you are not happy you could use a scraper or use a plane blade to scrape the surface, you will have to go with the grain. I tend to use various grades of wire-wool when I am working on hardwood, but clean off with meths or white spirit if you prefer. If the stain looks too dark after application wipe over with meths to lighten it. More pictures please when you have finished, Regards Alan
  20. Hi Alan, Its not only me that can not see the point of the Alan Partridge character Regards Alan
  21. Hello Boatyman, Welcome to the NBN forum from Tan & myself. Regards Alan
  22. Hi Jim, I thought the popular proofing solutions are best applied whilst the canvas is still damp, so the weekend may not be a washout after all. Regards Alan
  23. Sheffield over the weekend prediction, is similar to Norfolk, well it is a bank holiday weekend Regards Alan
  24. The weather predictions for the weekend and Bank Holiday are not looking good, lets hope that the predictions are wrong. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/weather/bank_holiday_weekend_weather_forecasters_predict_rain_across_norfolk_1_4549208 I have also looked at the predictions on the BBC Norwich and they say similar. http://thenorfolkbroads.net/forum/forum/281-weather/ At least even if it rains, some of you lucky people will be on a boat messing about on the rivers. Regards Alan
