  1. If you walk past the yacht station and the builders merchants you can et o Morrisons, a good walk but nearer than walking to Tesco, ideal if you do not want to walk into the town centre.
  2. Sadly people do not always follow the rules or advice given to them.
  3. The picnic boats for a larger party are great, seating for all with sliding roofs for those better days, all mod cons including a toilet, a sink and crockery etc. They are pricy but you could hire for a half day (4 hours) or the full day.

  8. I would assume that the supply to the pumping stations is 3 phase operating 3 phase motors.
  9. I had mine yesterday morning (the Oxford version) no side effects at all other than having a fear of needles.
  10. In the twenty odd years we have been on the Broads I have never had the inclination to visit this location it is too remote, the tides are an issue and there were always more inviting places to stop at. The place is not viable for any purpose.
  11. Hello grendel, Whilst I was working for Thomas Ward subcontract for their alternator power division in the early seventies; they supplied a system that provided power that started when ever a load of 60 watts was called for. The cost for providing a mains supply the 1/4 mile from the main road would have been close to 30,000 and that was the customer digging his own trenches.
  12. Yes when allowed it would be great to be back on the water be it the Broads or the canals, I only use the pubs for meals and because we visit the boat out of season you always have to have a backup plan for meals.
  13. About the only measurements I know of in industry I know of where they use centimetres is far parcel delivery sizes by carriers.

  16. My guess his director told him to hit everything in sight, he has over 30 to 40 years experience of boating and owned a narrowboat boat for many years when their children were small.
  17. I still work out measurements to the nearest on the tape be it in inches or millimetres after a few years in engineering with thousands of a inch the new metric was a step backwards. The money was just a way to devalue the pound at the time.
  18. I had my letter this morning and I am booked in on Monday morning for my first jab and the second in May.
  19. One has to ask how the insurance underwriters will look upon how all these boats were moored for the winter, if it is deemed as neglect or bad practices by the boatyards management. The insurers might not honour the claims.
  20. Understandable the way things are at the moment, maybe the situation will be different in April or May.
  21. Hello Sparky, I am sorry that your long term syndicate experience is sadly coming to an end. Time and health has effected most of the syndicates over the years. Sales in syndicate shares performed very well last year, even though allocations were effect at the start and end of the season with the lockdowns. Regards Alan
