  10. Good afternoon Please be aware that the Met Office has issued a weather warning of strong winds for Tuesday 25 August, between 09:00 and Wednesday 26 August at 09:00. In the East of England Storm Francis will bring some very strong winds and some rain, leading to disruption to travel along with potential damage to power supplies and trees. What to expect Injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible. Some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen. Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible. Some roads and bridges may close. Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage. Injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties. The following safety advice is for all users of the waterways. For urgent assistance please contact Broads Control on 01603 756056 or Broads.Control@broads-authority.gov.uk. For emergencies use 999. Check the Met Office weather updates. Regularly check that mooring lines are tight and have not worked loose. Stow any loose items from above deck, to below deck. Use caution when moving about the vessel, especially when topside. Moor away from over hanging trees (they will be in full leaf and have a large area to catch the wind. Branches may fall. High winds can make the surface of the water choppy, so boats may rock. Ensure fenders are out and spacing kept between neighbouring moorers. Getting on and off a vessel in high winds can be difficult; always put your lifejacket on before you board your vessel. Boat handling is harder in the wind, especially for larger vessels that can catch the wind making manoeuvres difficult. Disembarking from an exposed mooring will also be harder in high winds as vessels may be pushed onto the mooring via the wind. Stay moored until conditions allow you to safely leave. The warning and latest forecast details can be found via Hazard Manager, the Met Office App or Met Office website. Kind regards. Karen. 11. Chris and I also had fish & chips and ate in the park but we were drawn to the cafe for a drink and buttered scone. The staff were excellent in seating customers and cleaning the tables and seating before walking back to the boat moored at the Yacht Station to view the wooden boats as they arrived on the Thursday afternoon. Regards Alan

  14. Hello Helen, It can be overwhelming at times and it is one of the reasons that information is put into the boats log. On Ranworth Breeze I wrote a detailed instruction document to aid any of our owners giving training to new owners; a copy is in our boats log as a reminder for all owners so they can refresh where items are stored, the operation of all devices, cut off valves, spare ropes, additional power extensions, splinters and adaptors etc. I have only hired on the Canals, but similar information is always in the boat log and often a accompanying video. Regards Alan

  19. Hello Ian I would be inclined to go for plastic panels rather than ply faced panels. From what you say it sounds as if is some form of vinyl, try searching for vinyl sheeting for shower walls. Regards Alan
