  1. I have never felt unwelcome at the Waters Edge, never worn a sit & tie, often I wear shorts and a tee shirt, on our last visit we called in three times for lunch. I have moored up at both locations single handed, but because of the tides it can be easier at Bramerton Green or outside the Waters Edge. Regards Alan
  2. have a great time aboard. Regards Alan
  3. He didn't do to bad at various locations including the outside pontoon at Oulton Broad, he was not to keen on the 20 inch plus eel that he caught there, luckily it fell off of his barbless hooks that he used on this trip. Roach, Bream in the main. Regards Alan

  7. Ian I fully agree with you, there should be a national policy not only on the colour of the bins but also what can be placed in them. I have been to Devon many times staying in holiday lets, it is a case of reading what can be placed in each type of bin; which of course was totally different from at home. I can not remember the colour of the bin but all garden waste and food waste could be placed in that bin. Some holiday lets paid for any waste being put in bags to make it easier for their customers. Regards Alan
  8. When we were there I gave my bag of rubbish to one of the chaps emptying the staithe litter bins, he said just put it next to the truck. My personal opinion is that the trade bins should never have been removed from any of the locations on the Broads, it should not be down to who pays for the service, at the end of the day it is a tourist location and the last thing we need is rubbish left all over the place. Regards Alan
  9. I just opened the speadsheet MM . I prefer to use the Broads Authority tide tables that give the height of the low which help me to calculate when I can get under the bridges and more importantly get back. Regards Alan
  10. We ended up with heavy rain in the early hours last night and it is still wet this morning.

  17. I have moored at the furthest moorings from the yacht station, there are mooring rings rather than posts and there are three electric posts there. I found it fairly quiet being as I am an early riser. We did not have any trouble at all being as it is well away from the other boats. Regards Alan

  20. We have used a brokers called Morgan Marine Insurance for about the last 9 years, always had excellent service. Regards Alan
  21. On Friday we waited from before 11.00 am to a little past 7.00 pm for the bridge to open, several of us (six at one stage) waited all day for it to open, two needed 9 foot clearance, they managed to get under about 6.15 pm another boat who needed 10.00 foot and my self at 9 foot 8 inches waited until 7.00 pm, I could have scraped under just as the bridge opened. This bridge needs money spent on it or just fit the summer rails, which I believe are still on the track to be used. Regards Alan
  22. Congratulation to you both. Regards Alan

  24. Hello Ruthie, We called into the Swan House which is just up from the Church at Beccles, I had not seen it before. We had a couple of beers and watched as several platters went out to customers sitting outside. The food looked good. It might be an idea to give them a call. I am sorry I do not have their number. Regards Alan
  25. Hello Andy, you had better get a dayboat hired ASAP, I have heard that many yards have pre bookings now well into the season. Regards Alan
