  1. Leave it, I'll get some from my stock more than the 36" you require. Top rubbing strips - 2, 1 full width on the transom and the two lower ones for port and stbd sides. What about the joint / dressing strips on the fwd and aft coach house roofs? - Teak? and the top cant rails for the edges of the fwd and aft coach house roofs, and the cant rail strips where the deck meets the cabin sides, Toe rails? Mast? screen landing pad? Mudweight pad? - enough of course for both models Griff
  2. Talking of stairs - My MrsG fell down our stairs in the early hours of this morning, full length top to bottom. That resulted in a visit to the A&E at Donny. Thankfully nothing broken but proper bruised and battered. So much so that I will have to assist her in the shower this evening 'Tis a far far greater thing I do now' So I'm now thinking of an adult size safety stair gate with a Stannah stair lift - Those suggestions did not go down too well and I'd better watch mysen or it'll be me needing the next visit to A&E Griff
  3. Peter, If you are running short / getting tight on the teak, say so and I will get some more to you at the forthcoming gathering Griff
  4. That middle photo brings back memories. As a teenager I had a hand built frame based on a Greaves Griffin. It had a Villiers 197. That is another regret as I so wished I had kept it Griff
  5. The Tiger has a fuel 'Idiot Light' but also a digital display fuel tank level too. So it would be hardly unlikely I would run out of petrol, running out of ability however is not unheard of Griff
  6. I've actually got a day off! Well - nearly, I had to go visit a client so as I could provide them with an estimate, so cleared it with them to be unprofessional and go on the mighty Tiger. First time I've had the leg-over this year and boy, have I missed it or what? The Tiger positively roars, (probably due to the un-baffled Beowoulf exhaust) The distance to clients house was fifteen mile each way, I've done over seventy, and dare I admit the front tyre has done a bit less? Now to put Tiger away, get my sparky's head on and off to my Lads renovation house and continue with ground floor first fix wiring for a few hours. This evening me and MrsG are off to an eightieth B'day party. Then it'll be the Harvey Arms this evening for the Lads gathering as per the norm. The wx up here today is just perfect, proper hot, a bit too hot for Macie dogs liking. I bet it's scorching on the rivers. Every day should be like this Griff
  7. I'm impressed. Capt Chaos and his motley crew are onboard 'B.A' they arrived Friday = 1 x phone call to me for advice. Saturday 2 x phone calls to me for advice. How many calls today? Normally by now when Degger is afloat I would have had to charge my phone up twice a day dealing with his 'Issues' He latest 'Snag' was not being able to get the TV / DVD player to talk to each other. They were overnight at Salhouse, he also reports that he is sunburnt and squiffy. Good to hear, Am I jealous? Well I might be but not admitting to it Griff
  8. Yes, on and off over ten years between 90 and 2000, wall and floor tiling whilst in the RN Griff
  9. Executive for me so it tells me Griff
  10. Why would I have a flat drive belt for the standard alternator? Dunno, maybe Jason thought you might increase your battery bank at some future stage and put extra load on the 65amp so he specified the flat belt, belts n braces perhaps? Griff P.S I bet in hindsight you wished you had taken up the option of the 100amp !
  11. The shop back Ditto, it's a right hike into Acle village, not worth it if all you want is a paper and a few items Griff
  12. We run a Beta 50hp on 'B.A' The manufacturers supply a standard 65 amp alternator, we opted for an optional extra 100amp alternator fitted at the factory so we are running two of them on separate belts - the 100amp is on a flat wider belt, in fact it's the original belt which has now done over 2'500 x Hrs. The 65amp belt has been changed once to date. They are wired through a Sterling system which sorts it all out. We did not do any modifications to the alternators as the Beta came with it's own tailor made wiring loom. There are six 120amp leisure batteries onboard (Sealed lead/acid) and 1 x cranking battery. We also have a pair of solar panels that top up the leisure batteries only - can't report on their performance as they are a recent upgrade and have yet to be used in anger. Hope this helps, Griff
  13. I am still of the opinion that drinking and boating together is compulsory. It is Isn’t it? We use elec points sometimes, the onboard tv and dvd sometimes, the smart sound system sometimes, sometimes we have a drink whilst underway too. What I’m trying to say is each to their own in moderation, however we all have differing ideas of what is moderate, which is fine and dandy by me Griff
  14. The dress code is only used for the final night on the Friday during our 'Dining Out' night. Last year it was indeed 70's hippie outfits. This year it is to be Priests apparently, no vicars or tarts I have been informed Griff
  15. Craftsman? - That's stretching it a bit innit? There's a chap around the rivers that fits Dek-King professionally - Nipper knows of him, he might be able to do it for you? Griff
  16. Consider plywood, seal it then dress with Dek-King? Griff
  17. There is a cure, it's an easy fix too, no need to buy a boat either. Just get theesen afloat Griff
  18. 23:5 = Healthy for me, don't know how to do the screen shot copy/paste thing Griff
  19. Please Don't Tease - Cliff Richard and the Shadows Griff
  20. There are indeed a fair few Grandads amongst the crew, me being one twice over now. Remind me nearer the time for an itinerary we do indeed go South at the beginning of the week, this year it will be the turn of the Waveney to host us as last years jaunt was the Mighty Yare. We usually return to the Northerns about Wednesday-ish Griff
  21. Saturday 19th is also Bro' Howard s (GriffTiff) birthday too Griff
  22. We are fully booked / crewed up with three Jewels and 'B.A' - 24 of us and three if not four dogs. Sadly nowadays it's more a case of 'Lock up your Mums / Granny's ' bring oxygen, smelling salts or better still a stretcher! Griff
  23. I would have thought ‘B.A’ then you can inspect the upgrades with Robin first hand using MK1 lookouts Griff
  24. Well I tried, I really did. No matter how much I glared at our social diary and pondered about trying to shift thing round. I communicated with Doug on this a few days ago now Annoyingly I just can't make it, every weekend in May is already booked up for me and if I ditch any one of them I will be letting other folk down not to mention incurring their wrath and getting verbal abuse too. June isn't much better either, only 1 x weekend not spoken for at present. The 9th June is also a definite no go. Sigh, not best chuffed at this end. 'B.A' can be used as a hotel boat. She can accommodate 6 x crew without anyone having to share the double bunk or using the wheelhouse sofa. Moored through the bridge if river levels allow, otherwise moored up close to PHB or at the Wetshed - A car driver can collect / return the workers from Martham at the end of the days toil I would hope. Griff
