  1. Found a link from Force 4 with video making it look so easy ? http://www.force4.co.uk/seabung-2-pack.html?utm_source=eNewsletter0215-8&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=NL0215-8-seabung&dm_i=2D85,5U7K,2DXE30,CIMC,1#.VOohkYwgGK0
  2. On tonight's Dragons den a device for changing your seacocks whilst afloat .I am not sure it would work with my 'crinkly bottom " ? Also looks easy with new fittings in the video ,but most of ours will have been bolted up for many years and with corrosion would not be that easy INMHO !
  3. We use the I pad with stored maps ,local information, distance charts and tide times for the duration.of our trip from Shorebase ,On our I pad you can capture any screen shot ,so web pages can be saved or just a photo taken.Copy them to the phone to see at any time.Keep the Hamiltons from the Seventies with river guide as it brings back memories from the early trips. The laminated maps I find useful with a wipe clean pen for making notes .
  4. Thanks for that Stowy, much rmore detail than published.I did not know some of the things like Ludham that could be an easy fix at little cost could be done for a benefit to all walkers along that path.
  5. Plan for better access for cyclists to enjoy the Norfolk Broads and the Broads Authority appears to be putting up part of the cost ? Is the idea to go through land near the river ? Or using the existing path that runs from Horning to Wroxham which may be widened to accommodate cyclists? http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/cycle_route_will_open_up_the_broads_to_all_1_3945813
  6. On the news tonight ,report of tragic drowning in the river Waveney. Our thoughts go out to all concerned . http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/body_recovered_from_river_waveney_near_beccles_following_police_search_1_3932285
  7. Cleared all options and reset choices ,seems OK now thanks .
  8. Just had this problem crop up ,tried all suggestions with no luck ! Any other ideas ? roy
  9. Regarding his other interests ,he is featured in P and O brochures having his picture on many pages promoting his themed restaurants on most ships and appears in person on cruises ,so I would imagine that the pubs involved would not feature as high on the list as if it was your only business interest.
  10. In tonight's paper,lets hope it can be sorted ? http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/administrators_called_in_to_four_norfolk_pubs_trading_under_name_of_celebrity_chef_marco_pierre_white_1_3925684
  11. Ah,memories,Clacton four of us in the car over night for the weekend listening to Caroline on a small transitor radio as did not have one fitted in the car.Now where were we ?
  12. After many calls I contacted Sara Rushworth by phone at the Archant office .must say they were not on the ball at all ,saying my Sub had never been paid no record ,even though I had been with them for some years and then suddenly a cheque turns up dated weeks ago with a compliment slip and no explanation. In the November edition they explained they ceasing AA but were inviting you to sign up for a year elswhere in the magazine ?
  13. We were in Walcott yesterday and the seafront businesses were putting up their storm barriers, looks like they were lucky. We moor in Fleet Dyke ,have not heard how it was there ? http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/update_flood_warnings_around_the_east_anglian_coast_lifted_southwold_pub_suffers_damage_limited_flooding_reported_elsewhere_1_3911993
  14. Just read a post " elswhere " that there is interest and lets hope it can re open and become the pub it used to be and should be in this lovely riverside position .It would be nice to hear the same for the Berney ,but feel that will be a harder task.
  15. Select your time Jonso as we have had some long hold ups where the work is going on in the Cambridge stretch,be great when its all done.
  16. Followed Dylan since he started, ordered some DVDs and spoke to him and the intention was to go all the way round taking a few years, but time and costs ,I suppose leaving the boat and travelling back to your car must be higher than the average weekend boater and would be time consuming as well.i feel that you are there at anchor with him ,not sure about some of those meals ? It's ,a feeling that you get if you read the excellent Magic of the Swatchways by Maurice Griffiths ditch crawling around the East Coast.
  17. New Mc Donald's. being planned on the round about at the Southern end of the new road with the existing Little Chef on the other side of the round about.
  18. I was interested in the views of local users who would or not be affected as opposed to those of us who only pass through .We moored on an outside berth on the Great Ouse which was a trial when the river was in full low and getting your boat in was very difficult especially when windy.
  19. Nothing set in stone, these things have a way of getting through eventually in many cases.I remember being in a Horning marina years ago wher redevelopment plans were opposed many times over the years , but sure enough eventually it went the way of the owner, who has changed the face of many Broadland riversides with designs that have bought many critics.
  20. Extention to Marina under question, don't know the river there that well but from memory it did not seem that wide and has a strong current in that area ? http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/environment/broads_marina_expansion_recommended_for_refusal_1_3904413
  21. Have a good night and all the best for 2015 to you all.Diane and Roy
  22. Trouble is many drive around the limit and get caught out on those little downhill stretches.I now find the cruise control set under the max speed helps, but I get left behind by inpatient drivers and then tailgaters when dropping to the relevant limits on the journey when you hit the B roads.
  23. Much quicker for us over the holidays,M1 North Norfolk two and a half hours that's with delays at Cambridge A14 and A1Black Cat r/bt ,will be great when all done.Speed Camera van on A11Sunday near Snetterden ,spoil a few peeps days I'm sure.
  24. Kingsley bought our boat from Yorkshire during some terrible weather some years back,a great bloke.Earles Court was the best show in its time, from that long walk from the underground with people speeding up as they got near the end of that tunnel.the harbour was always an attraction with boats afloat and got me in the mood to be ready and get boating in the Spring You never really knew if you had seen it all with all the twists and turns especially upstairs with stalls in every corner.Good times !
