    Tolls

This money comes from the BA pot I would assume ,or could this be recovered . ?how much more can this drag on if it seems they are in the right ? http://www.eveningnews24.co.uk/news/thorpe_island_row_costs_broads_authority_90_000_1_4273717
  2. Agreed Bill ,all this and at present it is not as if is connecting with the planned new road which will not be finished any time soon ,surely they could have found a way to extend the slip road ?
  3. Use this junction several times a week and present coned layout is confusing and we ended up going round a second time to find the Westbound exit ,would be a night mare in fog or heavy rain at night I am sure there will be much to put up with before it is finished !
  4. Interesting video of the new bridge being constructed http://www.edp24.co.uk/motoring/watch_a_timelapse_of_the_postwick_hub_work_as_drivers_prepare_for_delays_this_weekend_1_4237981
  5. Big changes for users of the A47 junction at Postwick to the East of Norwich with some diversions and a new layout, which may affect your journey to the Broads area. Looking at the photo it appears to not be very recent as work on the bridge and roads are much more advanced than shown. http://www.edp24.co.uk/motoring/eastbound_exit_slip_road_at_postwick_will_close_for_good_this_week_1_4270363
  6. Certainly electric encourages us to moor at places out of season ,as with the early dark nights it helps keep the batteries topped up.Down South soon and will definitely make a visit ,hoping they are open ! Always. enjoyed the Arms whenever we have called in.
  7. I was working on the boat when a ranger came round inspecting tolls and I explained that I had paid over the phone but the disks had not arrived .He returned from his launch and confirmed he had checked on his laptop and all was well.
  8. Welcome from us Two as well
  9. We moored at a site in Horning which every year had a planning notice for two new builds on the waterfront from a well known local gent .this went on for some years nailing up a new notice .We were told by neighbours that it would be granted eventually and sure enough there are two more properties in his portfolio now with a good few added since .We had to move with very little warning .
  10. One of our moorers got back some items even a sunshade that she was told had been to far flung places and back to the UK.Well done to all concerned ,lets hope they get their just deserts.
  11. Great pics ,congratulations from us two ,you've got a fan club now so look forward to the tales .
  12. We have our boat on the Broads, but being only a short distance from our loverly North Norfolk beaches we should tell the world they are not that good as it took us ages to park due to the Beutiful day (25c) last Sunday week with lines of cars josling fo for a spot. Two days later almost had the beach to ourselves .bit like the rivers ,late September,Otober magic.Saying that we are off tomorrow for a week over the Southern rivers ,Stiil worth it even if it is busy.
  13. This would be ideal if you had a fellow drinker on board ! A Tinny each maybe should last for a little while ! Only problem I can see is leaving it 24 hours before opening ?... http://cellarandkitchen.adnams.co.uk/catalog/product/mini-casks/adnams-broadside-mini-cask-twinpack-47-abv?page=1&sort=price_asc
  14. Hi from us two, link for Norwich shop ,one of many .last time I was in the Southwold shop they had. Many beers in large take out containers, takes me back to the Party Sevens of my youth. http://cellarandkitchen.adnams.co.uk/page/norwich-adnams-cellar-and-kitchen-store
  15. Welcome to the Forum, enjoy. What area do you moor ? Diane and Roy
  16. Not boating ,but last year Diane got me a race experience at Brands Hatch ,brilliant on the track with other cars ,firstly in a Lotus Elise then a Nissan GT R absolutely fantastic machine ,these things stay in your memory because their so unique..Dont think I will get the chance to drive that fast again.
  17. Just had ours and passed ,which was good to know that things were ok especially the gas although we have a bubble tester which we use constantly , it is nice to have all the pipes inspected for peace of mind.Tim Waters did ours nice guy and knows his boats ,would recommend .Roy
  18. Whole in agreement with you. Only the French seem to use those methods and get away with it.The guy mentioned has spent vast amounts on strong locks but they cut through the roof and side curtains. The worst is that if they have entered the trailer the whole load can be condemned with all the costs involved .
  19. I mean all methods of entry this just the latest method ,a neighbours son has a large haulage company ,he has been fined often although they take every precaution and lost thousands through the delays ,loss of perishable goods and contracts .He does not see any end to it.
  20. Found another article on the same story ,it seems it was en route to the Thames for a private owner and not the same boat and not coming any where near the Broads .Take your pick ,? On this ! http://www.mby.com/news/migrant-stowaways-broom-35-48126
  21. At first glance the title suggested that they had come buy sea ,They appear in all forms of transport cars, camper vans even a small camping trailer the other day. There must be a massive desperation for these people to leave families and come here empty handed,. http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/crime/suspected_migrants_travel_to_the_uk_on_a_broads_holiday_cruiser_1_4191534
  22. The grass had been cut and a skip round the back looked promissing ,but still shut .Spoke to several people including the guy who sells pictures in the car park who said the pub could not get staff for the period ( the staff wanted board has now gone ) ,could be a reason , the fish shop has had a sign in the window for some time for an assistant .Shame as their is a stack of holiday makers about there at the present time and many I am sure would like a drink by the river I am sure.We went to eat in the Cafe next to the pub and can recommend the food and service ,Diane said the cake was the best around, the breakfast bap was very good too,as well as Ronaldos ice cream is sold.
  23. Be fair the sign is only the size of a double decker bus !
  24. Several years ago we were standing on the Quay down steam from the Lydia Eva we watched as three Barnes craft being escorted back up river by the pilot boat and the BA launch and apparently having been turned back not that far from the harbour limits. They had gone down on the ebb but were struggling to get back under the Haven Bridge ! You would have thought the sight of the very large moored ships would have given them the clue that they were going in the wrong direction. ( have some pics I will try and post )
  25. Hoping to get to Hickling as not been for a couple of years ,if not will potter around up North .
