To be fair to the You-tuber she seems to do very little editing and what you see is what happens. Watching her channel regularly I am sure there is no ill intent. However, remember that we are watching in 2D and the camera angle and especially zoom can accentuate certain situations making them appear far worse than they actual are. My overall impression of the video was how in general everyone took it slow and except for the hire yacht incident with courtesy, something I think is far more important than people running to help and often making the situation worse. Although aware of the phosphate problem from washing-up liquid, I was not aware of the shower-gel and liquid soap one. I take it this would also apply to shampoo. Are there phosphate free personal care products available from a normal supermarket or is it a case of buying online? Fred

Easticks last season was 1994. The Bounty 37s with the patio area were the Petit Magnum class which started life with the Ferry Boatyard Horning as Ferry Cavalier in the 70s and ended their hire career at VIP Harvey Eastwood Brundall. Alan Johnsons last season was 1992 and Acle Ferry Boats 1999. Both Easticks and Alan Johnson provided much lost mooring space and in the case of Easticks a reasonable walk to Acle village. Fred

When mooring at the yacht station we have always been advised by the attendants with the advice given above reference the mooring ropes and use of mudweight. These incidents are usually alcohol related but I suspect with clubs still being closed due to Covid then there may have been a drugs use connection. In addition to extra caution in mooring it is also wise to bring inside deck gear. Fred

Until we went into a syndicate, Silverline was always the first choice. They are just so well presented and equipped. We found them to be a very professional yard, everything seemed to run like clockwork. Some find their regime too formal but we found it the right balance and resulted in a good experience. Fred

Made in 1953 and classed as a light comedy. Very predictable but a must for Broads fans with scenes around Hickling and Ludham. Starred John Gregson and a host of recognisable actors from the era. There must have been a lot of boatmen used as extras and I have been told Herbert Woods got in on the act but I've never spotted him. Whispering Reeds yard is seen (then Puggin's) which is twice they have appeared on film, the second being the horror film (both in content and production) The Reeds of 2010. Fred

First record I can find for the Bridge Pilot is from 1955 and reproduced below. Hoseasons I don't think introduced one until the early 60s. Images of the Blakes pilot at Herbert Woods can be seen on the You Tube film uploaded by Lulu on the thread, " As Seen On Youtube, Broads & Non Broads."

I think the original Horizon 35 design dates (at least as a hire boat) to 1972 and Superline. Number 3 became Topline for the 1973 season. The design was soon adopted by numerous yards and in large numbers. Caroline was built on the Horizon hull with a Porter & Haylett superstructure. They did not stay long at Wroxham and had ended up with Alpha Craft, F.W. Cruisers and Harvey Eastwood by the end of the decade. Fred

Aston Boats moved to the Princess basin in 1968 when the Princess fleet was either bought or merged with Astons. The original Aston yard is today the site of Bill Maxted's yard (Broadland Riverine). The card is photographed from S. B. Brooks and Mistralcrafts boatyards on the Chedgrave bank both who used R. B.Bradbeer as their letting agent. The boat on the right of the postcard is Mistralcraft's Whispering Reed and on the left Whispering Gypsy. Fred

Just one definite identification which is Morlands (photo no.3) Brimbelow Road Wroxham. The plot is still called Morlands but the property either rebuilt or replaced by a new build.
