MargeandParge
Hope you are OK. Malanka is part of Broads history and one of the finest examples. You are wonderful keepers of that fine vessel. Thankyou for keeping her as she should be it gives us so much pleasure to see these beautiful boats used as they should be. She is in good hands at Sutton. Take care and look forward to the day she is back on The Broads again with pride. Kindest regards Marge and PargeΒ
grendel
with Wooden boats all we ever are is custodians, and we have to do whats best for them in the long run, put right the bodges of the past and endeavor not to make bodges in the future. when she is done she will be a credit to your stewardship, and I am sure she will be ready for many more years of enjoyment.
JanetAnne
I think that, as wooden boat owners we all know that , at some point, we will lose a season to a bigger repair session. What makes this one painful for Martin and Fiona is that it comes on the back of the previous two covid restricted seasons. Pleased to hear that Martham Boats will be able to help with a floaty boaty fix.
BroadAmbition
What's even more painful is that some previous work was bodged (without M&F knowing) this in part has lead to the current situation.Β Glad to hear that Martham boats are assisting. 'B.A' will be in a position to assist after our AMP is completed by the start of next month, assuming of course that we don't find ourselves in a similar situation Griff

Malanka
Hi All, not going to post the video however we have just had word some of the structural cross beams and a lot more ribs will need to be replaced. We are crossing everything and hoping thatβs the last bit of bad news.Β Β She will truly be a very lucky old lady to have met Charlie. We are very excited to get her back floating whenever we can. Β Anyone interested in having a refloat party somewhere once she is floating again. Β Iβm thinking gazebo lights and some barbecue style fun. Anyone up for that. HINT, it will be cold lol πΒ

Malanka
Ok Folks, time to resurrect the old story. Malanka is coming to the end of the first part of her long term restoration. Hull is almost complete, transom frame is about to be started( itβs going to be made of laminated oak). No paint this time, itβs going to be red utile.Β Β Thereβs still Β lots to do ( cabin side etc) the transom and some keel work. Then sheβll be ready for floating. Not quite sure when but things are moving in the right direction. We are going to bring her to the show in August even if we have to carry her there.Β Β Enough for now, please donβt worry sheβll be right sooner than you think.Β Β Martin and FionaΒ 16 2
