Hylander
Any port in a storm is what they say, someone has tied up to the work boat. Not for long it seems.
Gracie
I know you're not supposed to moor there but maybe they left it a bit late and rather than risk cruising after dark it was their only option, if so, well done them for not breaking that particular rule, perhaps lesser of two evils, I did notice early this morning someone moored at the Pilot station so maybe moorings were few and far between We're notorious for leaving it a tad late Never cruised after dark I hasten to add (come pretty damn close at times) Grace
petersjoy
Looking at the picture, that is one of Barnes boats and they do own all that mooring now, why the boat was there is anyones guess. Paul. 2

Hylander
We need more available moorings in Wroxham but saying that you cannot just magic them up.

SueH
Last time we were there I thought the cafe had a no mooring sign up. It was so busy though, perhaps I got confused! S
BuffaloBill
If on a hire boat, you can moor for free at Barnes or NBD but if a private craft, I believe it costs £10 overnight at Barnes but not in the private moorings opposite side of the river to their yard. NBD will not allow private craft at all!
JawsOrca
We normally moor in summercraft (or the hotel).. it's very pretty and had a couple of easy nights sleep. They do charge a small nominal fee but nice to offer some money to such yard..
Chelsea14Ian
You can moor (if private weds to thursday)where ever we moor we phone ahead. As far as I know the cafe has space for 3 to 4 boats.

Chelsea14Ian
It's called the river kitchen phone number 01603 926560 moorings 01603 783 051 (Wroxham boat hire)

NBD will not allow private craft at all!I may have remembered incorrectly but I thought Barnes charged private craft £15 now which was why we stopped outside the Hotel for £10.Could be wrong though.Sent from the Norfolk Broads Network mobile app
BuffaloBill
You may be right as we haven't been moored there for over 6 months now. Someone's got to pay for the new moorings being done next to their yard

That's true but Barnes don't want to know you Thursday night, Friday night or Saturday day time because they don't have enough room for their own boats on changeover, never mind anybody else's. I received short shrift from both them and Summer craft when I wanted a short daytime stop on Saturday 20th May. NBD, the Wroxham Hotel and Cafe were all full on that occasion. Mowjo
Bit late to the party but I had permission to moor there! I think the owners name was Laurie and he also owned Wayford marina, I moored there a few times but after a few near hits, I decided Summercraft was a safer bet
Hylander
I notice today someone has moored on the green near to the works being done by Brinks. You cannot blame people as mooring in Wroxham is horrendous this side of the bridge.
JamesLV
That might well be Barnes themselves, today is changeover day, and it looks like one of their boats, wasn't there when I looked earlier this morning
Chelsea14Ian
I don't it is one of there's I may be wrong. Don't think they have bath tubs maybe one of Rics boats.

Hylander
I think it was a Richardson boat and it left pdq this morning but good luck to them at least they got a mooring.
