Great efforts everyone but unsurprisingly it's the Nogs who claim the victory once more, it was The Reedcutter at Cantley

Here's another, easy one before I up the difficulty 20181206_183643.thumb.jpg.fd7c40b9a9f122b4b3f1534084522620.jpg

Thursday 6th December

After the long drive to Brundall, I arrived at around 0945 to find a grey gloomy morning. 20181206_094802.thumb.jpg.679b76b1827540d92da56c875b47ca3d.jpg

I quickly and easily unloaded the car, it's amazing how when not travelling with kids everything fits into one bag rather than overloading the whole car and having to play Tetris to fit it all in.

Car unloaded, I set up the boat and then tried to decide if I should head to The Ram for a quick pint and to have a look at the refurbishment or just head straight off. Opting for the latter, I opened up the wine (some people just can't travel without a glass of wine :default_rolleyes:) and turned on the camera to record a video of the journey and then left our mooring and headed off down the River Yare towards Rockland St Mary.20181206_111944.thumb.jpg.ae5915c2729c27bd4b053c48cb70889f.jpg20181206_112636.thumb.jpg.3a4793acc6196b9a1fc1e37bb61f9dd3.jpg20181206_112643.thumb.jpg.592437cf99d65b0ce07cea71fee629ab.jpg20181206_112906.thumb.jpg.7b3dd078cd7b9e0d4697277f2bc2643e.jpg

The rivers were as expected, deserted, absolute heaven. As I travelled along the Yare I eventually took the turn for Rockland Broad down Fleet Dyke20181206_114106.thumb.jpg.753590d53226f2f9ed25e2df1cf88e8c.jpg

Over the broad20181206_115017.thumb.jpg.3a6789f5beb4caf79555f1eda5084eca.jpg

and then on towards the staithe 20181206_115412.thumb.jpg.85f513510a0b32c4e0e38d8046e56cb9.jpg20181206_121758.thumb.jpg.ddc89768001247fd0d018e3fcca00bef.jpg

where I moored up for a dinnertime pint :default_beerchug:

As I went to stop the camera from recording, I found that someone hadn't actually turned the ruddy thing on, and had presses the power button turning it off instead of the record button, no names need mentioning, I know who's fault it was :default_rolleyes:

After a pint or two of Kronies (sorry)20181206_122915.thumb.jpg.fa6874988f40cb4fe6b519a417e3b52e.jpg

it was time to head back to the boat and have a slow steady cruise back over the broad 20181206_125913.thumb.jpg.9d2685dd5eae0a389e5dbc9378c0f37f.jpg20181206_135513.thumb.jpg.71c535be40f038627372e3f457004bd2.jpg20181206_135548.thumb.jpg.068c3684e6894171e78bda0ffa25c9f6.jpg20181206_135617.thumb.jpg.1798745dc0b749af0b4a825f8138eae8.jpg20181206_135706.thumb.jpg.aa000d9c067033d7cc058ed2936ad81e.jpg

and up Short Dyke 20181206_140039.thumb.jpg.0699c6c57946ab0cb4e8e57c745be23b.jpg20181206_140521.thumb.jpg.0b4c98570f77adb72cc0fbefe62de9e8.jpg

to the River Yare before turning right and onwards in the direction of Reedham.

The weather was still grey, and the wind was picking up but it wasn't spoiling the enjoyment of being back on the water, especially as I hadn't seen another boat, moored or moving yet, having the rivers all alone was wonderful.20181206_141348.thumb.jpg.8fbae5e3bbebabcfa32230609864c8ef.jpg20181206_143957.thumb.jpg.4805bfdca5e1ac59e9c1d9891139a420.jpg

Once I reached Cantley I decided it had been such a while since I'd last had a beer that it was time to moor up once again. It's always nice to have some assistance when mooring, if only I did have some :default_rolleyes:20181206_151108.thumb.jpg.5f0fba0536b5226d1c29ea94ccdceea9.jpg

Heading into The Reedcutter, I opted for a pint of Stella (again, sorry) and sat outside watching the light fading rapidly and the waters flowing by.20181206_153413.thumb.jpg.14f1d2ba94f37280517720842f4d93ac.jpg20181206_154053.thumb.jpg.aa321ba27f403debb63e3e8b400da362.jpg

The dog and I headed off for a walk afterwards before finding ourselves back at the boat, the short circular walk around the pub and housing is very pleasant and starts and ends at the moorings and further if you wished20181206_160234.thumb.jpg.bf50527c16e07d92a6b0b14404567bdf.jpg

but as the light began to fade (1605, if you are taking notes) I set off once more back up the Yare, 20181206_162232.thumb.jpg.b945371ba6f1fcf99888ffed1dd5b463.jpg

and took a turn down to Langley moorings.

I moored up on the downstream moorings in complete darkness which was nice 20181206_172338.thumb.jpg.687ef2f73c79525b82fe2fd095bc186a.jpg

After a chat with a friendly liveaboard who allowed me to get high from the fumes that drifted from his boat window :default_biggrin: (each to their own, it's not for me to judge)

I then settled down with a glass or 4 of wine, having a lovely chat. Eventually it was time to take my bitch out (no the 4 legged one) for a walk. If you haven't moored at Langley and been out overnight this is the path which leads to the roadway 20181206_223755.thumb.jpg.22e9fc75aa40016aa856678907f39f88.jpg

Which brings you here 20181206_211119.thumb.jpg.57b45f64765c762e40231effdcc12235.jpg

:default_biggrin:

Ooh actually my phone lit that up very well. Returning back to the boat it was then time for me to turn in for an early (for me) night exhausted.

Well I could see bugger all outside anyway :default_biggrin:

I was going to give you this one unobscured but seeing as you made light work of the last two, I'm being hard on you all...

Once again get it too quick and I'll make it harder :default_biggrin:20181207_153112.thumb.jpg.495c58c0fa52546671101bc6430d1c00.jpg

Hmm. Again very well done, you are "possibly" correct. Let me spell it out more accurately, I am looking for the specific name of the pub and it's village/town/city.

There that should cover it :default_biggrin:

Probably best. I have to make it stupidly tough as like you've already seen, the Nogs take the p*** out of the game.

And occasionally ECIPA too :default_biggrin:

Yes I have, and if you do mention the ruddy Waters Edge there is a rather large candlestick nearby, and you really don't want to know where it'll end up if you do:default_biggrin:

Unless of course you really do think it's the waters edge, Grace are we planning on going to the Waters Edge?? :default_smiley-angelic002:

Finally, I'm going to need definitive answers in future or at least a " I'm not guessing but what I'm thinking about at the moment" :default_biggrin:

It's no good just mentioning where it may be. You don't go to a pub quiz and just keep mentioning answers until you get the nod do you. Or do you? :default_biggrin:

I'm sorry, it's your own fault for being too good at these, that's why I have had to make it much harder.

But no it's not the Lord Nelson :default_rofl:

Yes we are definitely going in the Waters Edge babe just for Mr N. I hope he guesses the pub right when we post a picture up  :default_biggrin:

Oh and I never touched the ruddy camera :default_icon_kiss:

He ruddy better do, its the "go to" answer it seems. We will have to see what we can do to throw him off the scent when we do go.

I did say no names need to be mentioned :default_biggrin:  I am too good to you.

But one button Grace, it was just a press of one button

Nice to see you're finally afloat Jay. Being married to a man who used to be in uniform I know all about those unexpected shift changes and cancelled leave dates. We came back early from a holiday once only to find a note through the door saying that he wasn't needed the next day after all! Goes with the job.

Looking forward to hearing where you end up. Langley Dyke is one of our favourite places if we ever get afloat on the southern side.

Yes it can be very frustrating and annoying, but there isn't much that can be done unfortunately :default_sad:

It is very nice. Very dark, and very nice. You can get up to almost anything there and no one would know :default_norty:
