How Many Boats?

Recommended Posts

Having been coming down to Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas for over 30 years watching the boats from lots of places we have noticed there do not seem to be as many boats travelling these days. Been here all week, 2 days sat by Breydon Water, walk up to Acle which is great if you not done it, yesterday in Wroxham, there definitely seems a decline in numbers. Does anybody know facts or figures to say whether we are imagining things or are there less craft around?

There is a huge decline in hire boat numbers over that period, they are the ones that were out on the water a lot.

There has been an increase in private boat owners, some of us have to work, others have other reasons they can't get out on the water all the time...

Thanks for the welcomes, forgot this was my first post lol. Just to follow up our friends were down 2 weeks ago and felt exactly the same and like us were amazed at how quiet all the waters were compared to years gone by.

We will be swelling the numbers by one, quite small one, for a couple of weeks from next Friday.

No doubt all of the other boats will have come out to play by then and it will be silly busy :)
