Sladonians
Morning all, just purchased a Leisure 20 pocket yacht which I’m due to pick up on the 28th and motor from Stalham to Ranworth where I have a permanent mooring arranged. Can’t wait, haven’t been on the Broads since about 1990 and looking forward to exploring by motor and sail over the coming months and years.

eddybear
Welcome Sailor, You're going to have fun that's for sure, and a mooring at Ranworth, In the height of the season the rest of us could only dream of such a thing LOL

Sladonians
Thanks all. Quick question, I’m motoring her from Stalham to Ranworth next week and fancy a stop off for sustenance on the way. Any recommendations? I’m going via Ludham Bridge.
MauriceMynah
And Ludham bridge is the best place to stop for a libation. The Dog Inn as a couple of hundred yards up the road, beyond the shop.
NorfolkNog
You won't go wrong with the dog Inn, just a short walk from Ludham Bridge. I think they may close on Monday out of season, probably an idea to give them a bell just to be sure they are open. Snap MM beat me to it. They have a good chef and good beer. As I say best to double check out of season.
Sladonians
Thanks that’s a good one to try. Another question, I have VHF on board but understand it’s use is very limited on the broads. (I do hold the VHF license for marine radio) i was wondering if CB radios are used by other boaters for friendly ‘chit chat’ whilst on the water? If so I will install one. grendel
the general usage is small hand held pmr radios for boat to boat chat, someone may correct me but I think channel 4 is used
MauriceMynah
I have CB but not yet fitted. It always surprises me that CB isn't more popular on the broads as it seems perfect to me.
