Beccles town council investing £250,000 in the quay.

Plus a BA discovery hub manned by a ranger being installed.

which they closed due to lack of support

Whilst I think it is a good idea why close then re-open

No that's the bit above the quay by the footbridge.

That section was well silted up a year ago when I was last there.

The resurgence in popularity & lengthening of the season sounds a pretty good reason & having lost the Norwich TIC where the Whitlingham  staff were to be redeployed & could always be changed to being staffed by volunteers? The "hub" idea has been around for some time so a good place to start & promote the South for a change

Gas Dyke has been cleared of all the small "locals" boats which are all moored on the North side of the Yacht Station taking up all the moorings at that side, It's clear ready dredging but i heard there's a hold up regarding who is responsible for dredging it. I'll back there in a couple of weeks and will see how far they are on with it.

Does that mean we should book a mooring if we want to go to Beccles next week? I wouldn't normally bother in November. I've heard that it's super busy this week, but then it is half term. I was expecting it to be very quiet next week.

I'm sure you will be ok next week, not seen it packed full while i've been there, that was last week. We are back there on the 13th for a few days so will miss you, would be nice to see some photo's while you are there.

As to the over due Investment of  Beccels Yacht Station now being put right will this encourage New Boat Yards Investment on that side of the River?

The Town Council took full control of the Yacht Station 3 years ago so suspect its taken some time to get the finance together

Let’s hope they can sort the lights out on the quay and put a 50p in the meter 🤣🤣
