Time To Reflect On Winter Boating

There is something very special about winter boating. Now we have our diesel heating, we absolutely love it.

We were out last week. Frost and ice on the outside 20 degrees on the inside. Magical time of year.

We were out last week too. Hopefully back again 4th feb for another week, will be crossing Breydon again to assist another boat back across Breydon to have his engine replaced.

We too love the peace and tranquility winter cruising , the Broads are stunning when wearing their winter coat .

Very jealous...... counting down the days to our May week..... can't wait, might even be warm!

IF the upper Ant and Richo's are free of river ice this coming weekend then we may be out and about too from Saturday  afternoon

Just back home from a few days out and about. Cold and bright days, freezing nights with heavy frosts. Thank goodness for the Planar 4Kw from Autoterm, kept the inside between 15 and 20 degrees. Have to admit I did sleep fully clothed one night though…🥶… don’t ask…😎🤫

We ran ours all night just turned the stat down to 12.

Yes, sometimes on the lowest setting, but the downside is the clicking of the fuel pump which is located in the engine bay to the stern of the main cabin…☹️

It must be pure magic going for Winter Cruising with out much Boating traffic thus providing it has got a good inside Heater and nice Warm Bed to go to for the night except in the morning getting up quick to putting the Heating back on to warm the Boat up a bit

I'd love to try winter cruising but I hate being cold. To many years of sleeping in sub zero temp in my army days lol. I would certainly be that person who was kept awake by that annoying clicking noise made by the fuel pump. I can imagine the broads look quite magical with all the trees cover with a layer of frost. Quite envious, enjoy.

Hi there's one other way is getting Ear plugs to stop this irritating Deaf as a post as to going to Sleep and not hear the Water lapping on the side of the Boat during the night.
