  1. Ian, Hi Boulters (Horning) do a 24/7 for £125 which is pretty inclusive. Also a propeller cover for another £35 and if you've only one engine I think the extra is well worth while. http://www.boultermarine.co.uk/Breakdow ... =Breakdown
  2. I suppose I should slough off my lethargy and make comment..... We've had three boats moored on The Broads and have found everyone "suitable" for our then needs. Here they are: So we can be said to have had our fair share of expertise on this subject!
  3. This doesn't bother me too much as regards visitors as I've lived here for over 30 years and never heard of this rag. I can't believe anyone outside of Norfolk has either...
  4. The Japanese and Chinese have already done this. But not with quite the same commute to the terminal from the aeroplane!
  5. Consumption would make Luke's 25 gph look quite small change!
  6. Neil, perhaps my maths isn't too good nowadays but I make that to be over 18 LITRES.............. OMG
  7. Barry, Hi I completely agree with Chip; worse thing I ever did. Now back (and happy) with BT.
  8. It should be fine, if you can get it high enough. And make sure it's designed specifically for your cruise area's TV Transmitter frquency.
  9. And you didn't mention your website... brilliant pics! http://www.leomagill.co.uk/
  10. Welcome aboard, Leo. We're a pretty friendly bunch and you'll find a wealth of knowledge here!
  11. "Cruise disaster: Perfect storm of events caused Costa Concordia crash" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... crash.html Just how could it have happened?
  12. As most will know, I use Bold to do just that, Neil
  13. Dave, Hi PM to Neil and you... hope to see you both!
  14. Barnes Brinkcraft suggest a seven day cruise which encompasses all you would both want to do... just substitute Geldeston and Oulton for Brammerton and Norwich.. you'll certainly see a lot of the Broads! http://www.barnesbrinkcraft.co.uk/7day/
  15. If you're leaving an appreciable wake (enough to rock boats moored alongside the river) then you're most probably going too fast! Come alongside a private boat and ask for his speed but if it's gps speed you then need to add/subtract the tidal flow (river speed over the ground). I've never heard of a dinghy being stopped by the Rangers but quite a few should be!
  16. Dave, Hi We'll still be south at that time ( do you pick-up on Sat, 28th April?). Perhaps a message on your itinerary nearer the time? Or a suggested meet-up mid-week?
  17. Welcome aboard, Minor! So very nice to hear such a heartening tale but I doubt if too many of the regulars here will be surprised about Ricco's standards being so high!
  18. In fact, Martin, it wasn't a typo error! The correct 2-letter ID for Gt Yarmouth is GH... GY is Grimsby........... And, actually, SW is more like 1.30 after LW at GH....
  19. Brian, Hi Don't know where you got those tide times from but the Norfolk-Broads.org tides calculator shows 05.36 and 18.03 on the 16th. Sunset on the 15th is 19.10. If you got away from Brundall by 15.00 you'd be able to spend the night in GH and get away early with the flood on Sun morn! I look forward to that beer!
  20. Hope you've all got much longer mooring lines than you need on the Broads then, Gav!
  21. Completely agree, Paul....... why anybody would want to go to, or stay, North during the Summer season beats me............... guaranteed bumps, knocks or worse and very few mooring spaces... But that's a private boat's view. What thinks you, Neil?
  22. We use a steam cleaner on ours, Jonny.... not the leather bit though.
