  1. There is (allegedly) a planning application in somewhere for a refurb and associated development I think!
  2. Puzzled by one photo. Looks like a Broom Commander maybe, 1391Y, can't find her on Craigs pages!
  3. I did Striding Edge in January many moons ago with ice axe and crampons. Bliddy terrifying experience! Never did an edge look so narrow!
  4. Jono, that photo of Marina Keys is quite a few years old and not representative of the current state. I should have pointed that out.
  5. Its great to see some boats moored at Marina Keys. Lets hope the plans to bring these back into use do actually happen.
  6. £600 + for a coffee machine??? That is a kings ransom!
  7. The Beauchamp Arms used to do a superb sunday carvery. One of the best I've had north and south including Yorkshire!
  8. Am I the only one that prefers The Wherry at Geldeston rather than the Locks?? I tend to find the Locks a tad pretentious at times. Blowing all the candles out and switching the lights on rather killed the fairytale.
  9. I think I may know the chippy you refer to Paul!
  10. We had "Westering Home" out from Breydon Marine back in the late 70's. I remember her as a spacious, comfortable boat. It was around that time we had always fancied hiring one of those steel boats of theirs like "Lady Carron" and "Waveney Halcyon" but never quite had the funds on student nurse wages!
  11. Thanks all for the responses. Paul, thanks to you for confirming what I thought was the logical way to use this. You are so right in saying it does make an exceedingly good coffee!
  12. My day can't kick off without that smack of caffeine! I have a yen for that smell of fresh ground coffee but can't get on with filter stuff and Cafetières so I bought one of these! Does anyone else have one or have experience of one? Advice needed! https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00004RFRU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I got some good quality expresso coffee and seasoned the thing as suggested. Then loaded it up and waited. It bubbled and shook until I decided to have a look. The top section was full of coffee so out came the mug and I filled it from the pot. Now my family and mates always compain about how strong I like my coffee but I took a swig of this and, I do not exagerate, it was so strong I reckoned I'd be having hallucinations for the next month at least. All this blurb leads me to ask! Do you sup it straight from the pot? The pot isn't huge and just fills my trusted breakfast mug yet, on the destructions it does say it will make up to six cups of coffee in one go. Does this mean you drink it by the thimble full or do you dilute it in your mug??
  13. I've had a Stirling Alternator Regulator and was impressed with its performance. Batteries were always in a good state of charge. I was even more impressed with their customer service. Charles Stirling himself spent a long time talking me through the instalation and wiring needed.
  14. Seamaster for me, the availability of good examples indicate they last well and the soft top on the Broads widens your cruising options.
  15. Second 24v alternator?? Bliddy ship will turn turtle if much more hardware is added!
  16. I'd add the New Inn at Rockland and The Nelsons Head at Horsey!
  17. During "wasp season" I always found it wise to pass Cantley at a good lick. They seem to like it there and come nosey parkering on passing boats!
  18. Was she a tad warm or on fire to require such drastic action Alan??
  19. Reminds me of the campaign to prosecute Bill Stickers! Never did find out if he got off!
  20. The fact of the matter is we shouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water!
  21. A discussion like this and the forum bans political discussion??? That's the root of most of this problem in the denial of adequate resources and funding for the Police. They are being squeezed in the same way all public services are! Could open up a whole new discussion.
  22. I look back at 1976 fondly, We were out on "Morgans Treasure" from Pirate Craft. I especially recall basking in the sun at the "Loaves & Fishes" with a few jars in Beccles. Really liked this pub.
  23. Irritating in the extreme is starting each comment with "yeah"! Its effin spelt YES!
