They do a great job, often putting there lives at risk.I am proud to help collect for them when ever I can.The support we get from the public is truely heart warming.
My sun glasses helping people to moor in Neatishead a few years ago.
Off subject but funny. When our first boat was delivered to us.The chap said he delivered to a couple a boat on n one of the Greek island went out for a trial at sea.one of the throw the mud weight over board (which was not tied on).Asked if he would get it back!

Breydon is the crossing from north to south. In all honesty I love all of the broads. Our boat is moored at Brundall. We have a great moorings. It is handy for us,living close to Dartford. The southern broads are less busy all year round,Great places to visit.Always happy to go north when we can.Would not enjoy as sadly some do only staying north or south. Enjoy both.
Happy boating Ian
This evening we were packing up,most things were packed away.People kept coming along. In the space of about 10/15 minutes we must of collected about 50/60 pounds.Yes it's very rewarding collecting for the Poppy appeal. This morning we were shopping in Bexleyheath,The 2 minute silence at 11 o'clock was observed by most, apart from the old few.
Last night I helped collecting for the Poppy appeal. Will do the same this afternoon. Have been helping for the last few years.Always get a good response from the public.Good also to see children wearing the poppy.I agree we must never forget those that sadly lost there lives and those injured and indeed served in conflicts.
We will Remember them.
Went back to work yesterday,The first time since I had the accident. Okay arms a bit sore and a little tired.I did do oddly a first Aid course last week. Still have to be careful with my arms. Next up at some time next year,op on my hernia. Happy days (not).

Just started today,Women at war.June Brown (Dot Cotton)was in the WRNS,during the war.She was speaking to women like herself ,who served during the war and women that serve now.A good little programme. In the beginning she was unsure about the role women take in the modern Navy.By the end her opinion had changed. The programme ended with her on a patrol ship by Excal. They even let her take the ship for a spin around the dock. This is the first of six.Its on 9.15am BBC 1.

Watching Britain Afloat, from the planner. The knobbie in Liverpool. Little wooden sailing boats.Used for fishing later for pleasure. I have never heard of them before. They were in decline, luckily a group of people saved a restored these great little boats. Well done to them.I am always pleased when a little bit of history is saved.
