  1. I looked at this and my initial thought was 'only 8000 hours' my car's done 260000 miles. Then I did some sums, and depending on what I called my average speed was looking at 5 to 8 thousand hours. Kind of puts it into perspective
  2. Feel for you mate. Lost my best ( RAF friend ) to a sudden brain hemorrhage a coiple of months ago.
  3. I'll look out for you ( weren't sat outside the pub near the corner at lunctime were you - certainly whoever was looked familiar as I went past )
  4. Now that brings back memories..........
  5. I wondered if one had rolled down from a house opposite - looks a good square thump to the wall. Incident only reports single vehicle
  6. Picked my young daughter up from her evening job last week. She told me a colleague is in working whilst still testing posititive. They are allowed, so it's going to happen. So far none of us are showing any symptons, so hopefully our recent bout of it has done it's job antibody wise ( plus jabs of course )
  7. The thing with dogs, and youngsters, is they are not predictable. I had to grab a dog out the water that jumped for the bank on a boat mooring up a couple of years ago. Luckily it's collar held or it's would have got crushed. Would have been easier to grab with a jacket / full harness though.
  8. I made my locker to take the 4.5 - snug fit and won't take larger.....
  9. Was great during second lockdown - recognised exercise don't yer know
  10. The current COVID though, whether as a result of jabs or weakening of the strains as they evolve, is not the same COVID we were faced with 18 months ago. Personally, having recently had it, I'm no longer worried by it
  11. Mine lasted a week, and the wife went down with it the day I tested negatitive. Both mild, I was having aches and sweats on day 2&3, and lost taste for a few days. Both worked fom home, with no real issues. Back to normal now.
  12. ... and amount of gap either side is about what I have too ! ( athough one side is another yacht )
  13. I still spread pate on digestives - closest I can get
  14. Practical test of the booster underway - just tested positive :-(
  15. Posted form mobile while passing and that should read YACHTS ! ( auto correct strikes again ........... )
  16. If anyone knows the owner of the white small yacht moored in ‘Rascals Bay’ on Barton they need to come and have a look at it. The mast is down and the sails dragging in the water.
  17. They'd excavated about 5 inches below the surface ready for re-dressing yesterday. Hopefuly a quick fix. Anyone know what the ones in Rackheath are about on the Wroxham Road ?
  18. One site to give accurate info on the broads is the Hickling Broad Sailing Club weather link - live date https://www.weatherlink.com/embeddablePage/show/a3af8d2a0a604e9592e5122cebdfd1c6/summary
  19. Both generators filled, coal fire set, log burner ready too. Been practicing knots on bins and garden furniture.
  20. Doing the same as they were at the St Faiths / Airport roundabout - re-applying road markings so a lane out at a time each way. OK in the mornings but were some delays in evening rush. Suspect it'll keep moving on one roundabout at a time as long as necessary
  21. Pointy boat - only have a centre cleat at the front
  22. It's starting to cause real issues for us. My daughter, still reliant on me for transport, now works some evenings in Norwich. I have mandatory meetings to conclude before I can set off from home with her. It was tight, but doable before these roadworks. Now she is late most days, which for a young person in their first job, reflects poorly. ( if I go via Coltishall it's heading the wrong way and still adds around 8 mins to the journey over a clear road in Wroxham )
  23. I went through yesterday about 20:00 and it was all sorted effluent wise. I just wish they'd get a shift on with the repair.
  24. The way they've messed the roads up in Norwich I'm regressing to rarely going in myself
