  1. You lucky man, actually being there! What a fantastic turn around, Barca just hadn’t got an answer last night had they?! ( I think the Canaries have withdrawn their offer for Messi this morning, it will save £20m anyway.) I thought at one point when being interviewed Klopp was going to burst into tears. Just brilliant. Hope you recover from the hangover quickly.
  2. Now that is what I consider a very worthwhile and commendable project and no doubt it will be hugely satisfying once you have completed it. Will you be putting all those ‘full English breakfast’ establishments on it too? I have an old copy of Hamilton’s if you need it.
  3. Back to the drawing board then perhaps!
  4. Don’t apologise for goodness sake! To be able to provide a map at the drop of a hat is commendable. I hope my observation didn’t come across as being critical, it certainly wasn’t meant to be. Dare I ask what the project is?
  5. I think if I was fairly new to the area I would struggle with grendel’s map (sorry grendel) while Jayfire’s looks easier to follow. Put the two together and you should find Gaye’s Staithe easily enough. Add in the description from RS2021 and there is no excuse for missing it! I would just say that Gaye’s Staithe is very popular and will fill up quite quickly. It is also mainly stern-on moorings(there are a few side-on but they will undoubtedly be taken by the time you get there). Personally I don’t like being penned in by other boats and it won’t be the ‘wild’ mooring you seem to be looking for. Paddy’s Lane off the Ant just above Barton Broad would be quieter as someone else has mentioned.
  6. Mmm, one or two showing their true colours I see.
  7. Missing the post or apologising?
  8. With apologies to Poppy as I missed the earlier post!
  9. Not only promoted but worthy champions of the Championship - well done Norwich City.
  10. Perhaps he’s out and about?
  11. I must admit I was wondering how those boats managed to moor stern on down Upton Dyke!! Enjoyed your write up very much David, such good photos too.
  12. I was comparing home insurance cover only recently and came across quite a variety of stipulations. One company quoted an absence from home of no longer than 30 days in one go and a total of 60 days per annum. (That one was definitely a no-no for us!) It’s definitely worth checking your policy if you do spend long sessions on your boat.
  13. was it dead Alan or eating the cheese?
  14. Wish I could give your reply more than one laugh there Cap’n, you never let us down with your responses. You must be a real gem to live with..............
  15. Not going to get much ‘otter this weekend apparently. No otters at Coltishall last night
  16. They’ll have to do better than they did last night then.............. (Sorry, that was cruel.) I did hear a rumour that the Canaries are going to put in a bid for Messi, d’you think the proposed £20m spend will cover it?
  17. What a blessing Broads bridges aren’t like that!
  18. I do like football Cap’n and have supported Norwich for a few years now. The Board seem to have got things just right, it didn’t look too good 12 months ago or even after the start of this season but what a difference now. I’ve no doubt it will take a little while for the lads to settle, they’re quite a youngish side you know. BTW, I also support Burnley. I have a soft spot for Sean Dyche (even though I want to clear my throat when I hear him speak!)
  19. Only time will tell................. If Norwich had remained in the Championship, I think there would have been a good chance of them losing Pukki, Vrancic and one or two others. Now they should be able to hold on to them and maybe find a couple more good ‘uns. Onwards and upwards Canaries - well done!
  20. One quite vocal at How Hill yesterday - a cuckoo that is! Welcome back to the forum Gracie, hope all is well with you.
  21. The old Thurne Dyke/Boundary Farm moorings are no more. There are new BA moorings near where the old BF moorings were but for no more than three boats , dependent on size of course.
  22. I always liked the look of the Sancerres but never hired one. I know there is one moored at Thurne (or used to be) but they do seem to have largely disappeared from the Broads. To the fens clearly!
  23. The moorings at the very far left hand end, beside the boatyard, are indeed private. It is quite clear though where the BA moorings end. We hired Swan Rapture as a fairly new boat about 15 years ago. Really, really lovely boat.
