  1. Well you could support them or since you live in Hampshire, Southampton my mum's team.. Though seeing the dragon , I have no idea what colour the RAF Neatishead football team played in , I sailed and played Baseball for Neatishead..
  2. That would you believe is the title of a railway book I've been reading, it brings together stories from throughout the UK. But there is a high east Anglian content. Three in particular catch my eye. An event on the 10th of September 1965, involving a yacht called " The Four of Hearts" which on dropping it's sails to moor at Reedham, missed its mooring , its engine failed to start, so it drifted towards the bridge, which was open ..for the 534 ton Ellen M, which on swerving to avoid the yacht hit the bridge.. In a story about the long gone Breydon railway bridge , it points out that the enabling acts of parliament stated if that or several other bridges failed to open within 1/2 an hour for river traffic there was an automatic £5 fine.... I wonder if that still applies... And in the August 1912 floods many passengers were trapped around Norfolk on trains, those in GY at Beach Station and Vauxhall Station were accomodated in the carriages and station buildings. They were then fed were fed kippers for breakfast and fried fish for lunch.. for several days..
  3. My brother in laws coffin toured round Easter Road, before his funeral near Falkirk about 18 months ago. So you support the Thurso Vikings. Me, I went to school in Inverness and have no interest in 22 overpaid men pretending to be pushed over.. Now if you think Inverness Caledonian Thistle is a long name for a football club , think what it would have been like if the Third Inverness team had joined in the merger...Clachnacuddin

    Road Works 2020

the road works on the Norwich road Wroxham have disappeared again..
  5. I used that route last year just for a change and it's quite good except for the roads through Lincoln. The M180 / M18 are nice quiet Motorways, so you regain what you loose up the A15..
  6. I wonder why I bought a long wheelbase Land Rover... .
  7. You would be over the maximum towing width of 2.55M (8.4ft ) towing an Elysian (9.5ft) without an escort
  8. With the soon to open Lincoln equivalent of the NDR (lots of roundabouts), round the eastern side . It will be interesting to see if A47/ A17/ A15/ Lincoln NDR / A15 / M180 / and beyond becomes a viable route..
  9. And a top speed of 4mph on pavements where as even the road only legal hire scooters have a top speed of 16 mph like electric bicycles..
  10. Carved into the wood under the steps into the aftcabin of my elysian 27 centre cockpit it says 2.6 tons..

    Road Works 2020

All the road works through Hoveton and Wroxham have cleared, except the Avenues now closed diversion via Salhouse rd. There appeared to be some sort of incident in Hoveton, two police cars parked on the pavement at the precinct and another came out from the road that side.

  20. The problem for most of the foiled craft is there is not enough room, small dinghies like the 12ft international Moth, maybe on a big broad, though can you imagine what happens when the T foils hit the mud on the bottom.... As for a broads cruiser, the class rules requiring cabin, berths , matresses, fore and aft bench seating, tabernacle, forehatch. All will make a broads cruiser too heavy even if totally built of carbon Fibre.. Should you be able to make the impossible, then you'd reach the end of each tack on the broad so quickly, you'd rarely be able to stay "flying". Such broads cruisers certainly would be impossible to use on rivers, the extra width would mean continuously tacking, and just how would you tie up against a quay heading?. A passing motor cruiser not seeing the underwater , excrescences would just destroy them.. as would the shallows of the river bank..

    Road Works 2020

The Roadworks in Wroxham between the Avenues and the flowershop have gone, those uphill from Roys in Hoveton are still there..
  22. Not if natural England has anything to do with it.... There is a very good picture on the EDP (edp24.co.uk) which clearly shows why the cafe hasn't got a chance.. Though I don't think the satellite is that good more a drone picture

    Road Works 2020

Oh joy.. There is now a set of road works in Hoveton as well , between Roy's and the double mini roundabout. So there are traffic jams everywhere, you get stuck in one set in the tail back from the other set. Then you get the pedestrians crossings stopping you when the lights on the road works go green... Chaos..
