  1. Last year we had a 6 week period where the levels were too high . And yes , they’ve departed now , with a friendly wave , what a beautiful boat !!!!
  2. The troubleI Found with the old type was being fairly low down in the boat I was finding it increasingly more difficult to lean down and clean them out , and without Katie there to help pull myself up again almost impossible
  3. We have just had those converted to the basket type of filters as I found them a pain . They removed the old fitting and fitted new hoses , cost us c.£300 all in (for two of them)
  4. As well mentioned in another thread , if any one in the wet shed needs their tube heaters switching on let me know I’m here over the weekend . if they need leccy cards topping up in the wetshed , again , let me know I can purchase them and put them on your supply and give you my details for reimbursement.
  5. Up bright and early this morning at 07:00 all snuggled due to the radiators, chilly outside 8degree but very windy , wind due to ease at midday so will stay sheltered till then , just waiting for the croissants to bake , Katie is an excellent sous chef !!
  6. The precise wording of the new legislation includes amongst reasons to list leaving the home as matters of safety , in their usual confusing way it is unclear as to if it is personal safety or safety of property. If it is to make safe and winterise your boat , surely that is also work that cannot be done from home as such and provided it is not used as an excuse to have a day or so holiday I cannot see how they can not permit it. As always it is down to how the rules are interpreted , and if they are unclear (which IMHO) they are then the winterising of boats is permitted.
  7. I think I’ll have to get Kate to throw me out (Again?), so Cerise Lady becomes my main residence , On a serious note , I’m back in the wet shed on Monday if any member berthed there needs their boat checking , tube heaters switched on etc , let me know
  8. It just causes the elderly such as my mother distress , she is very good for her age but does get confused and the current situation is certainly adding to that
  9. What I am finding unacceptable , is announcing a press conference will take place at 17:00 and now at 18:20 still no press conference !!!! My 87 year old mother has so far rung or texted me 7 times wanting to know what she can and cannot do , the U.K. gov is adding to the confusion unnecessarily
  10. Sadly bridge height at Ludham too low so we have moored for the evening at Neatishead staithe , on the leccy. Spit of rain but not too bad , but windy . booked into The White Horse at 19:00 for dinner
  11. Leaving home shortly for a few days afloat , with Katie this time . Waves to friends old or new if we see you afloat , hoping we may be able to squeeze under Ludham Bridge
  12. A threat of physical assault is very much a police matter , if you log the threat with the police it becomes a matter of record and any subsequent threats should also be logged in case of any legal action in the future .
  13. All I can add is that it is noticeable that when we go past the quays on the way to the wet shed we very rarely see any of the Richardson r45’s in the basins nor the larger gems but many of the smaller 2 and 4 berth offerings . I would offer the opinion that Richardson’s larger craft actually rent more than the smaller
  14. I understand as to the agreement with the council and the BA , but this year is unprecedented and as such emergency changes have occurred through all walks of life , its a time to adapt to the greater good not to be a jobs worth and say “that’s the rules” , we have all had to accept new regimes and conditions is it so difficult for flexibility to this agreement
  15. It is a great shame and IMHO a dereliction of duty that the BA are failing to maintain these facilities when they know that a large amount of hire craft will still be on hire.
  16. Barnes has at least one in production for next year
  17. That is assuming the b****rs moor correctly between them nowadays anyways
  18. There isn’t a privateer amongst us that hasn’t made a pigs ear of mooring on more than one occasion , similar for hirers . Many a mistake can be made from complacency. In my case why is it that when you make the perfect difficult mooring no one sees , but if you make a cock up ???
  19. Looks a lovely spot , do you have access and use of the grass area as well
  20. Checked Craig’s boat list for Wroxham , sadly hasn’t been updated , but I have seen a couple of their old boats now in private hands
  21. Trouble is they tempt people like me to buy them , all the tools and no idea , think I’d best leave them to those that know what they are doing
  22. There are yards hiring out on the South as well I believe
